I am sure this isn't the first time this question has been asked and probably won't be the last...

I have just purchased a Beosound 5 / Beolab 2 & 3 and a Beo6. Its all setup and the Beomaster  is connected to my WD Nas drive. The data is mostly downloaded iTunes music and a few cd's ripped.

Everything seems to be working fine apart from the artwork. A handful of the artwork has come up and the odd new one appears occasionally.

My question is does the artwork eventually get loaded up but extremely slow or is there away of speeding things up. The B&O technician who setup the system knew of a programme but it seemed to be windows only, (I am using a Mac). He also looked at an app from Doug's apple script for itunes however said that wouldnt work.

I apologise if this subject is a bit tiring but your help be very much appreciated to get the full use of the system.

There are several ways to achieve this.

 Bliss is one of them:

Just let the BS5 alone....

It takes several days till almost 2 weeks to process the music for MOTS. Coverart also will be visible during coming next days. (I assume that all music has covers in its tags present)

For coverart, I use mp3tag. It gives you the option to rename, of modify covers/names etcetera.

MP3Tag -  which I also use - is a Windows-only program.

Tristan.... wrote that he is a Mac-user - that is why I did not mention it.

Hello Tristanbailey87,

I experienced the same problem, and much more.....

First of all I wanted to ask you that:

When I purchased the Beosound5/Beomaster5, I told to the dealer (an avaliable and competent person) that was my intention to use the Beosound 5 with a NAS  - this due to the fact that I have a lot of records to store, and the 1 Tbites of capacity of the Beomaster 5 was not sufficient.

He told me that B&O only recommend the Iomega NAS to work with Beosound 5, and that with all the other NAS, B&O would not give any assistance in case of problem.

So I did, unfortunately, 'cause I have a lot of problems with this NAS; initially the Beosound 5 did not get to show any cover, while with the data stored in Beomaster 5 there was not any problem. Then I lost all the data twice (no comment).

So I would like to know if you too had the same reccomendation, and if you too purchased a Iomega NAS (now Lenovo) and what kind of assistance you got from both B&O and Iomega/Lenovo.

Thank you in advance

Hello Beobuddy, regarding the files processing for MOTS I have a problem: this process in now over, but the most part of the files was not recognized and MOTS doesn't work with them.

With the data stored in the Beomaster 5 there is no command to start a new process.

What could I do?

.... I was forgetting to give you what probably fix your problem:

I know that BEO recommends to save artworks with resolution up to 500x500 pixels.

So check the resolution of your artworks, and if higher than 500x500, use a graphic software to reduce it.

Let me know if it works....

Hello,

I bought my equipment from the Houston store, who were very helpful however I did have to pay but only a small fee.  I have returned back to the uk so my system is being shipped over ATM so haven't been able to play with it for a while.

I had a western digital nas drive but had no joy as it kept on crashing my system so I put all my data on the the beomaster and it worked like a dream apart from the album covers. I think what was causing a lot of issues was me using a mac. The software b&o provide has little options compared to the windows version so what I'll be doing when it arrives is build a windows PC and start playing around with that hopefully using the PC as the server as I'll be also installing CCTV in the house. Hopefully then I can push the album covers onto the beosound 5 as there are so many more options compared to Mac.

Sorry its it's not the best of replies it's been a while since I have used it and currently re wiring my house. My local stores now are Chelmsford or Colchester who are also very helpful.
