Hello all
about a year ago my bv7 was under warrantee and stopped playing blu rays but would play dvd's.
B&o replaced the drive and everything went back to normal.
the tv is now out of warrantee and guess what today I rented some films and the tv just says cannot play this disk or takes ages to play one but will not play the other. I checked and the front end software is up to date.
the back end software is slightly out of its build.
can anyone think of what I can do or what this might be, now it's out of warentee how much am I likely to have to pay for B&o to look into this. I can take the disk into the store to see if it will play on theirs as a test.
cheers all

Has anyone used one of those bluray lens cleaning disks?
My BV7-55 refused to play "Skyfall" as the software levels weren't current. My B&O software was right up to date, but my Blu-Ray player software wasn't (remember, the software in the Blu-Ray player is separate to the TV!!).
If your BV7 is late enough to have an ethernet connection, update it this way - or if not, get your store to burn the update to a DVD and load it into your player manually.
Hope this helps!

Hi lee.
Thank you, my tv software is quite old but my bluray software is up to date when you update viaEthernet.
the TV software is quite old, I just tried some other bluray disk and they play ok but it said cannot play this disk.
gutted I have to return it tomorrow so won't get much testing time.

I had similar issues with my BV7-40, but none of these with the Blu-ray player on my PS3. Why not? PS3 is set to download the latest updates. BV7-40 was using old Blu-ray software and simply wouldn't play the latest Blu-ray discs. A quick software update solved this.
On a sidenote though, I now rip ('backup') all my purchased Blu-ray discs to a network drive. Not only does this avoid all these Blu-ray s/w issues, but it removes all the silly "do not pirate your own disc" warnings you get before the movie, plus all the ads etc. You get just the movie, with HD audio.
Hi there team
i tried the disk in my work player and it played straight away.
i then tried it I my lodgers ps3 and it said it needed to renew encryption keys.
does anyone know if our encryption keys are updated over Ethernet or via a B&o software update.
really gutted today as I found my local dealer has closed down so nothing in my town anymore.
OK so half way through the film kept jumping on the PS3.
im now not sure if my tv has a problem or if this disk is just a pain in the back side.
no other films have not played.
