MartinW: It would seem this restriction is from Spotify not B&O - presumably B&O have had to block the Network Link function for the Spotify feature to comply with Spotify's requirement. I do understand that Sonos does this though, i don't know how they are able to do it but others are not. Technically Network Link is an ideal system for doing this so I am sure B&O would have wanted to be able to - its not a lack of technology in this case. --- Thanks, Martin, for this explanation. This was just what I feared from the start. But it is very important to know from where these limitations come. It is very easy to blame it on B&O, but unjust! And it is a pity that we are not allowed to benefit full from NL (at least not yet). For the clever solution adding a line-in (for a Playmakeer) to the converter we must be thankfull, imo. ---- If I had bought a V1 a year ago I would be delighted with this added value feature for free :) ---- that is true Again great value for the money spend on B&O-gear ----

MartinW:Hi all, Exciting news - if you have a V1, BV11, BV12NG or BeoSystem 4, there is a software update you can download now to get Spotify integrated straight on to the TV. It shows in the menu as a source - and you can assign any button to it on the remote, such as CD. If someone can explain how I can upload a picture onto BeoWorld off my iPhone, I will post pics :)

NOBODY noticed the new YOUTUBE feature???
It was installed the same time as Spotify
And what is it?
It shows up in the source list now. Rather than an app in webmedia. Newer Beo 4's have it as a soft button under List as well. You'll also notice Apple Tv as a soft button too.
Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there
My V1 is now completely unusable for me. The HOME MEDIA-feature just crashes the whole TV each time I try to enter it. Worked perfectly before the "spotify" update. Now it just crashes. I almost only use it for connection to a DLNA-server so this is really annoying. And I can't see Spotify anywhere in the settings. I guess I have to pay the 1000 SEK for WEB MEDIA to be able to use my 28 000 SEK currently broken tv :).

Very interesting to hear and thank you.
I'm in Australia and have updated to the latest software, but Spotify, whilst mentioned in the update doesn't show up under home media, or in pressing the CD button on the Beo4 as per the update comments/instructions.
However, as yet, I haven't subscribed/paid for the extra web features re an activation code, and nor do I as yet have a premium Spotify account - I assume I would need to do both these things first?
Also, how does one update (if it is possible) one's existing Beo4 remote to show the new soft buttons for youtube, apple TV etc, under list?
Many thanks
John...

ptbb:my home media also does not work, only show empty content of the nas, but there is more than 150 rip brd. before update it worked perfectly.
Same here, completely blank. Doesn't seem to find any DNLA servers, so I've lost access to my ripped movies.
So, I've got Spotify on my TV....but lost the ability to view my movies :)
I guess they are going to have a tuff week in Struer working this out
Seems like an activationkey is needed for the V1's that were sold early.
Some danish friends have this problem too..
Others are telling that Spotify just appeared after the automatic update - without any fuss.

Had the same issue. Spotify loaded with the software update, then I was not able to access Homemedia. While my TV showed wireless "connected", it apparently wasn't. Disconnected by removing network in the Network menu, then reconnected to preferred network using WLAN. Homemedia and Webmedia returned.

I'll give that a go later. My BV11 is connected via a fixed ethernet cable, though. Maybe it's just dropped the network, after update? Would make sense.
The tried and tested 'turn it off, then turn it on again' approach.

I have a perculiar issue after having done a "spotify upgrade" on a BV11-46 with a BL11 attached as subwoofer:
After turning on the TV, the BL11 connected to the BV (as SUBWOOFER) apparently receives no signal from the BV. Speaker settings look fine (ie. BV11 appears as SUBWOOFER under SPEAKER GROUP, TV) but the BL11 is not receiving any signal. Mystically, the output/bass signal to the BL11 is restored, if I select "Speaker level" under the SPEAKER GROUP menu. Just entering the "Speaker level" submenu will do the trick, no changes in speaker level is needed. Unfortunately, after turning the TV off and on again, the problem reappears - no sound from the BL11.
Obviously it is quite annoying (to say the least) to have to go through this "reinitialisation process" every time the TV is turned on.
Anyone experiencing the same/similar issues? Looks like a software glitch?
Issue resolved: Last night I managed to resolve the issue by first deactivating the BL11 under the speaker group. Then re-assigning it to "sub front", and thereafter back to "SUBWOOFER" redoing the settings for distance and volume. I am not sure exactly which part of this procedure solved the issue - but everything now works perfectly again. Thoroughly enjoying this new spotify feature - no drops outs at all and in this respect infinetely more reliable than the airplay+ipad/iphone solution.
Everyone seems to be raving about spotify integration on for example the BV11.
It would be great if the damn thing would playback Songs gaplessly, however it does not! Stuff like this really annoys me.
My mac mini with KODI installed on it does it perfectly, and I would think a high end brand like B&O should have no problems with it either!!!

For me, Spotify does not work at all anymore. On my BV11.
2 Seconds and it stops.
The Spotify menu is so slow on the V1 that I've put a chrome cast on the back of the TV. I must try it!

One week ago my V1 started having the exact same issue. After around 56 seconds, the music starts scratching, and play/pause can get it in sync for another 56 seconds. The problem, however, can sometimes be solved by simply turning the TV off and on.
Spotify will soon be removed from the BeoVision 11, BeoVision Avant, BeoSystem 4 and Beoplay V1
Where is this information coming from ?

Will they get Deezer instead ?
Peter
There is already Deezer on the BV11 platform?
Sandyb:It's a pretty bad app on the BS4 anyway, do many people actually use it?
I use it once in a while - and I know someone, who often use it.
But we will need that information to be verified - otherweise I'd call it fake news ;-(
Removing it would not be too bad....if we could get support for Spotify Connect instead.
MM, my thoughts exactly- thay can't just remove a feature, without replacing it.

I can confirm that Spotify will be removed from Beosystem 4, Beoplay V1 and BV11. The "app" or web solution has not worked fine at all. I think it´s a really good opertunity for B&O to deal with Spotify and finally be able to distribute Spotify-Connect from a Beoplay A6, A9, M5 or Beosound 35.
Do anybody know why you aren't aloud to distribute the Spotify-connect stream in the Beolink Network? I mean know we can even distribute Airplay from Apple?!
@spezialisten
What does 'confirm' mean?
Can you qoute an official B&O announcement of the removal?

Good riddance. Using Spotify on the BV11 makes me want to throw the remote control st the screen every single time. Even my Mini in-car system has a better implementation.

It's confirmed. Spotify will be notifying everyone via the interface they are using. It's not just B&O that are loosing the app, a lot of other players are as well.
