hi, i got a beosound 3000 and a few days ago it startes doing a strange noise like the cd lend is traveling ,also a green LED came on .With all that was working just fine untill 2 days ago when decided to give up.Now the doors are opening, and the cd arm moves up and down when ''load'' is pressed but thats it, is not responding to any controls, remote or keyboard. I have downloaded the service manual, went into test mod and found that the eeprom is gone .....hope someone has this little file for help.

thanks ! Beste regards Vick

The eeprom is not a file. It's a part of hardware which only you're dealer can provide you.

If only load is displaying I would have a look to the laser unit as well. Normally the laser unit is defect. When the EEPROM is defect the device won't do anything at all.

Hi and thanks for the replay. I think my description is not accurate ...

my beosound is totally dead , only the sliding doors are working and the load button is opening and closing the cd arm or what ever is called but nothing is displayed and the remote is not doing anything . As for the EEPROM I imagine is an 24cxxx or similar that can be written with a fresh software or cloned from a working unit?!

Thanks Vick

Vick,

i can't and won't help you with that. The pincode system is also in the eeprom of all Bang & Olufsen devices. So i'm not shure if it's legal to copy the eeprom. Bang & Olufsen will never support or repair a device if it's clear that the eeprom is cloned.

So the best thing to do is ask you're dealer for a pre programmed eeprom or for a repair of you're device

I once made a fresh copy of a Beosystem 2500 because of a malfunctioning Eeprom and while doing that I replaced the "aux" in IPOD. Am I a bad boy now? Does the BS3000 has a pincode anyway?

Thanks Victor, a bit of sunshine can't do any harm. Any luck with your Eeprom?

Hi Les,

no, no joy so far but to be honest I didn't tried to hard as I'm working away from home.... Il take it apart  this wkend and read the  EEPROM just to make sure is not hardware damaged and ...yes might get into a B&O store to try ordering one. Obviously if the price is reasonable .

I would be glad to Jacques but I don't have it anymore. I think it's more then a year, maybe two since I did this "project".

Hi guys. Here is a little update. I got in touch with b&o and bought a new Eeprom pre programmed for my toy and still no joy. I was advised that the Micro might be faulty as well . The EEPROM was about48£ but the micro looks like is going to be 370£ ish with a part exchange of 110£ from b&o is is proven to be faulty ......now since you can buy another beosound 3000 from eBay for 370£ ....lets do the mats.

Might as well get cheap as selling my faulty one as spares or repairs. The sad part is that this is in mint condition and literally looks like new ....

Let me know Victor if you decide to sell it as spare parts. Have one with a faulty PSU.
