Simonbeo:

It's on the App Store .

Only for iPads, under BeoMagazine or Bang and Olufsen.

Just downloaded the first magazine under this app -- it is BIG, and on my iPad 1 seems unusable (i.e. I can't get the magazine to open !).  About to try the iPad Mini with iOS 7 and see what happens ...

The new iPad BeoMagazine is well done.  It does suffer from one problem.  Many of the products featured have been deleted and are no longer available. Well maybe only the white Beocom 2 is unavailable.  I guess I was still thinking of the website.

Works fine on my iPad 1. Try deleting it and reinstalling it, sounds like a corrupted download.

Its very slick, works like Engadget's Distro magazine, looks like the same app to display the content.

Thanks for the tip !

Elsewhere I said ...

Started downloading my copy (iPad v1) to find it is in two parts, an App and then a separate 229MB magazine ... not sure a private B&O magazine stand is a smart approach - why not leverage all the eyeballs looking at Apple's NewsStand ?

... and another advantage of leveraging Apple's massive data centres is that the download would be faster !!!  ETA is 40 minutes, and so it will arrive after I have gone, still could be some nice night time reading Smile

Just a little technical note...

Apple's newsstand, unlike iBook isn't an app, it's a special folder. Apps that the developer mark as Newsstand will automatically be placed in this folder and their icon will be replaced by the cover of the latest issue. But newsstand magazines are just (almost) normal apps.

You can see this as most magazine app have a very different interface. Some have a similar interface as you can buy ready made apps and customise it. Which is what B&O has done.

Since iOS 6, apple can host downloadable content related to an in-app purchase. Wether the app is a Newsstand app or now.

Other than that the app worked fine on my iPad 1.

Beoworld app with direct photo upload and emoticons.

As a sideline, well impressed with the new iPad Air that I picked up yesterday. Seriously worth some consideration. Makes my older (large) iPad feel weighty and dated. Basically, it's now the big brother of the iPad Mini. It's also incredibly fast. Feels about 3x faster than my old iPad 2! No slowdown on anything.

I also had a few issues with the B&O mag on my iPad 2 - kept downloading. Had to download, in full, three times, before I could read it.

I'm intrigued why they called it the "Air", do you think they have another iPad variant up their sleeve ?

As it's so light. Seriously. I compared my old iPad to this Air and the older one now looks 10 years old. This is a third lighter than the previous iPad 4 and 20% thinner. Basically it's a larger iPad Mini, with retina. Impressed. Everything runs so smoothly, too.

Only downside is the expense, as I had to go for the 64GB version.

Upside is that if makes browsing the B&O magazine a breeze.

the issue I had (thanks to my son's diagnosis) was that the download kept pausing and not completed. So the advice to delete and restart was wrong. So just keep restarting :-)

Just received the proper printed B&O magazine this morning. The same as the iPad edition, but in printed format. Easier to read.

You'll have to close the app and open it again. I had to do this several times till I download the full issue.

Chinese superstition towards the number 4 I think. Now that China is one of the biggest market for Apple products plus I think they want to appear less predictable? And iPad has been named less numerically than say the iPhone.

Chris mine took several attempts and days to download even though I have a strong internet connection. I do find sometimes it is worth just rebooting the iPad as mine stays on continuously.

Go and grab the printed version from your dealer? It's far better than the iPad edition.

The iPad version took three attempts before I could download it. By the time it was downloaded, I'd lost interest.

Maybe I was lucky but I downloaded it right now in less then 3 minutes (optical fiber).

I like very much the article about the small clever flat.

Funny, I had no problems downloading. I started the download from the Apps app (department of redundancy department), walked away and did other stuff. When I had time to pick the iPad back up again several hours later there it was.

Got mine in the post, yesterday and if you look where is the V1 Tv's ? only shows the Bv 12 and Bv 11 Tv's in the Magazine!  Does that mean there is only 2 Tv's in the range now? as I know the Bv 7 has gone and also the Bv 10!

It's in there, twice? :) In the feature about hotels (there's a V1 on a floor stand) and in the product catalogue at the back.

The V1 differs in its marketing in that it is advisable to buy from a shop rather than online as it needs installing more than being just "plug and play"..

Its still in the magazine.

Beo Century ,Beoplay V1, Beocenter 6, Ex-Beolit 12, Beotime , A8. Beolit 15 , Form 2i , Beolab 2000, Beoplay A3.Beosound 1

Congrats B&O for the issue number 5 of your magazine received today in my mailbox.

Let's now all run to the shop for the paper version...

Hi Chris,

Yes it arrived earlier in the week - pop in and pick one up if you are passing. I think it's the best for a long time...

Cheers,

Nick

Hi,

does anyone knows if there will be an update of the iPad app with the new magazine or is the app discontinued?
