Hi,
Does anyone know of a smart BlueRay player that supports composite out or HDMI out with separate analogue out sound. The DVI socket does not support audio and I don't think there is a cable that will support hdmi out to DVI in with separate audio.
Any Ideas, not WII, PlayStation or XBOX etc

Hi robathome and welcome to BeoWorld,
on recent BRP's you will have to use an adapter - HDMI to DVI for the picture and a small DAC - digital out to rca - for the sound.
Older BRP's had analog-out (video and audio) connections - it might still be possible to get one/ebay?

The TV does not show a coherent picture, just lots of lines like it can't support the res of the Blue Ray Player :(
The player outputs to a PC monitor via DVI and the TV display a PC screen through the DVI socket
I have set the Player to display it's lowest res 576 HDMI but the display is not viewable.
Any ideas?
If it will work depends on the 7-32 version and/or if it has been 'HD-Ready' upgraded.

Worst case: you will have to use a 'HDMI to Scart converter'.
The TV is no HD ready, the retailers I have been to say there is no such device as HDMI to Composite :(

With lots of background information to this theme (HDCP).
we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.
I have ordered one, but one of the reviews says it does work with "an old B&O TV"
We will see.
If you mean the HDMI to Scart converter, I can assure you that it works.
I have one to connect an ATV to my Avant - which csertainly is "an old B&O tv".
Question is:
Is the YPbPr socket an Option? Converters from HDMI to YPbPr are available.
Or what about using a HDMI HDCP remover to feed the DVI-I socket?
I have the same issue with Beovision 7 40 MKI (not hd ready), trying to connect a HDMI source...

I want to connect a HDMI source to a Beovision 7 40 MKI non hd-ready AND getting a HD Picture to the TV (no downscaling via scart, composite etc.).

I did not try the '...to component' converter.
Haven't got the opportunity to/the gear for this experiment.
But - as atated - I have the '...to scart' converter.
I am quite sure it will work.
How good it works, will depend on the quality of the converter - don't expect too much of a cheap conveter-thing.
On the other hand don't expect too much from a non HD-Ready tv!!!
If I had a 7-32 (non HD-Ready) I would go for the HDFury-solution - even if I had to use 'PC' from 'List' to activate it (just put it to the first place in the 'List').

I don't think you need to downscale.
If the native/provided resolution is 720p (which is fine for me), the TV should be able to handle it:
The panel resolution is 1.366 x 768.
So, too be more precise: I want to display 720p material, what is the best way to do this?

Many people in Denmark are using new (MPEG4) DVB-C/DVB-T2-receivers nowadays on their 'old' bv's.

I have installed quite a few 'new receivers' using a simple scart cable, and the picture was always improved to the earlier analog signals.
I am not sure that it is worth the effiord to handle with different converters/extra cables just to get a (theoredically) slight better picture.
But judge for yourself, when you have tried different options - and do let us know what you think/see.
Just my experience/opinion
P.S. And save the 'converter-job' for things with pure/only HDMI-output such as the AppleTV-box?
