Whilst routinely servicing a beocenter 9300 yesterday i found to my horror a 4 inch piece of metal loose inside just waiting to short components and cause mayhem to the inside of the machine.

The only thing worse than that was it will eventually effect all of these machines, luckily with little effort and very basic skill needed this can be rectified before it happens.

Basically there is a metal cover plate under the cd door and another under the tape door, the double sided tape holding it in place on the cd side had lost its sticky resulting in the plate just falling off into the machine, i applied very little pressure to the tape side and it came off in my hand.

Without seeing one of these fallen off there would never be a reason to check this in a service until now that is, id recommend it be done as a matter of course as it will happen in time.

Removing and replacing with new double sided tape will prevent this problem.

Granted this is the first time ive seen this issue show itself but im sure you will agree once is enough, tape is tape and with age it all looses its sticky.

I rarely get onto beoworld as much as id like lately so was unsure where best to post this or add pictures but do hope this post helps some owners all the same.

I adore these machines and hate to think that such a stupid piece of sticky tape could put them out of service.

Hopefully a kind beoworld member with more time than me could add a post with pictures to help other members, its the square silver plate with a bit of black tape on it covering the bar of the door mechanism.

kind regards jason

Thanks Jason, a good heads-up for reference and one to watch out for.

Dave.
