Good evening,

Sorry to be a bit of a buffoon, but I'm having trouble getting my recently acquired beovision 6 22 (i think) to work.  It dates from 2004/5 and I don't think it has an internal freeview tuner and I'm trying to hook it up to a variety of freeview boxes and dvd.  I'd appreciate any guidance/ assistance!

Thanks for your help

Welcome to Beoworld!

Your TV should work with external Freeview boxes etc connected via Scart. There is an internal Set Top Box menu from which you can select a Freeview or Satellite box to operate via the Beo4, although there is a good chance that most will now be out of date and you may have to find a corresponding second hand STB.

I assume that you got a Beo4 remote with the TV. You should also have got an Infra Red blaster lead to connect the TV to the Freeview box so that the Beo4 can control it. A short cut would be to ask the person from whom you acquired the TV what Set Top Box was he using, and if you use the same all should be well.

EDIT

A couple of afterthoughts: the previous owner may have used it as a link TV (using input from another TV with STB), in which case you will need to check the internal STB  menu. You also need to use the SAT button on the beo4: the TV button will just put the TV into the no longer transmitted analogue signal mode. Upgrade your membership to access manuals if you didn't get one with the TV.

Many Thanks for your prompt reply Graham.  My beo 4 only has a dtv- is that the same as sat?  I don't have an Infra red blaster- where would I procure one please?

Thanks

Yes, DTV and SAT are the same.... the terminology changed over the years. A blaster cable should be obtainable from a dealer for around £15, or possibly from Steve at Sounds Heavenly who has an ad at the bottom of the forum page. As well as upgrading to get manual access I'd also recommend searching the archived forum where you are more likely to find information on your particular TV model.
