As part of a package I picked up a pair of P50 the other week which has blown woofers.

They are no high priority for me at the moment.

One way would be to be patient and look for new woofers, but I have a feeling it might be a hard job findning these guys.

The other way would be to actually sell the midrange and tweeters for somebody desperate needing them for a pair of broken P50.

Hard choice, opinions ?

Orava, at least one of the woofers are stuck, mean means the cone wont move when I touch it.

the other ones, give fractions of sound, and come a litle bit more alive when I press the cone, which should be burnt coil ?

I do have repaired tons of equipments in my days, but actually element repariment, is quite new to me.

( I change a paper cone with integrated coil, in a forest, in the middle of the night, on a a tour some 25 years ago,but thats all my experiences of dealing with the actually element )

I asked because if stuck, repairable.

If they are same type as in P45, thee body also oxidied and that can cause "rough" movement, airgap is quite small in these.

Interesting.  P50 are sensitive for rough handling.
Seems like some time consuming work , to repair those woofers.

Arn´t there any equiliant elements avaliable ?, not made in China ? anyone tried to search ?

Fix them.  Piece of cake.

No way will you find an equivalent driver.  Can you find something that will fit?  Probably.  Will it sound the same?  Doubtful.

When I found my pair of P45s, I had understood from reading this forum that they sounded great.  Since I already had S40, S45-2, M70, and P30 speakers about, I could believe it.  So I wanted to save this pair of P45s from the skip.

I don't know the P50.  Is it worth saving from the skip?  And are your woofers repairable?
