Dear Forum,

a friends of our has a Beovision 7 - 40, MKI, Type 9351, Serial 1910xxxx.

So it is NOT hd-ready.

BUT our ideas are

1. is to connect SAT Reciever (namely Dreambox), that does not use HDCP.
I could use - as an example - a Dreambox DM 800 HD SE - to connect it via an Adapter HDMI to DVI-I.

2. Use a converter that gets rid of HDCP...

[PC] would bring up the DVI input, right?
If AV4 is set to PC.

What if I register the reciever as DTV(STB)?
Would DTV bring up the DVI Input?

Whitout the HD ready module I would need to feed 1.280 x 720 (60 Hz) = 720p.

Has anybody tried this successfully?

Ralf

I would simply use the scart output of the 'Box' (most ones still have) and let the 'Box' do the conversion.....

....and start saving for a new(er) BV Stick out tongue

I am sure it will - even with the scart connection - improve the picture to an old analog signal.

Just saying, don't make things too complicated.

Try it out - and judge before you/he spends money on converters and cables.
