Hello all
i am trying to help our next door, I only use sky tv with my bv7
next door had a CRT tv and bought a sony flat screen with built in free view, when her ariel is plugged into the tv via a booster box she had no signal quality and about 40% signal strength. The channels keep cutting out and freezing.
I disconnected the ariel from the tv and connected it back to her free view box (external) and it works fine but a good signal and quality.
Most of the channels work for a little while and then seem to get worse, it just started with itv but has got worse and worse.
any thoughts all???
cheers

My guess would be that the new TV has tuned itself to the wrong group of signals/ channels, maybe from a transmitter located behind the aerial.
Try retuning the new TV, possibly keeping the aerial connection out for the first part of the tuning so that the 'wrong' channels are skipped and the right group of channels get picked-up.

I wonder if the freeview signal is being affected by one of the 800Mhz 4G networks. Have a look at - at800.tv

4G changes should be notified in advance in the few areas affected, and a filter will need to be fitted. This is unlikely to be the problem if the old Freeview box still works OK. I would try retuning the TV first. If leaving out the aerial for the first part of the retune does not give the answer, then do a full retune with the aerial connected and then manually re-order the channels. You should be able to find the preferred transmitter/ channel information for your area on the web.
