Just wanted to intro myself.  I was given some great vintage equipment that has needed maintenance and restoration.  My beogram 4002-5513 has just started acting up.  The wow and flutter issue, it just won't hold speed on 33 rpm, and i'm betting it's the capacitor problem, as the unit sat in a box for a long time.  I was just hoping for a list of things to check in order of importance.

Any help is appreciated, I'm pretty handy when it comes to fixing things.  I just finished re-wiring a set of Magnepan MG-1's...

I've got a CD-50 and a CD-X, along with Beogram 3000.  I don't use the CD-50 or the 3000...but that's probably a post for the for sale section.

Now that the maggies are fixed, it sounds GREAT, but the intermittent speed problem (it seems to show up any where from 2 sides to 6 sides in....

Thanks for any help

Hi there.

Wow and flutter usually due to;

1. slipping turntable belt

2. speed change relay needs a clean - deoxit or something like that

3. speed pitch wheels need a clean - these are the ones up above the 33 and 45 buttons. Try turning them a few times to each end and back, otherwise they may need dissassembly and a good clean.

4. caps somewhere else in the speed control circuit. (dont have specific details handy right now).

Id be looking at 1-3 first.
