Hi
Just wondering - I was using my DVD1 to play the recent release "Monsters University" ( region 4 ) DVD but it wont get past the main "play movie" screen and just dumps out to the grey screen that you see when a disc is loading etc. The DVD is copy protected ( not that its an issue ) and its by Pixar.
Much to my annoyance, the DVD plays perfectly on our daughters 40 quid LG portable DVD player we bought 2 years ago.
Just wondering if I need a firmware upgrade, or perhaps its time to just bite the bullet upgrade to a blu ray Oppo? I love the integration of the DVD1 with the BV8 I have, so I'm, not overly keen on changing if I dont have to.
We are not big DVD watchers, nor do we have surround sound etc as its not a priority. ( it took me ages to just wrangle a set of Beolab 3s into the loungeroom past the Minister of Interior Design.)
Any thoughts most welcome....
Seems I may have found the answer - a few av posts on other web sites seem To point toward a possible manufacturing issue. As such ill probably avoid DVDs from these guys for a while....
