I have a pair of B&O's Beovox 4700 speakers. They are in a full working condition and yes, the sound is simply amazing! I have them connected to a fairly old amplifier ( Aiwa from 2003) but the sound is still so much better than my 5.1 Home theater from 2012. I use the speakers very(very) much, i listen to music for more than 3 hours a day and it is hard not to crank the volume up on these.. The bass from just ONE speaker is enough to vibrate the whole room and they can sound through my entire house even tough they are in a garage where the walls are 60 cm thick and fireproof!. The speakers are over 40 years old but since i just got them last year i did not get a chance to hear them when they were brand new but i can't imagine they were any better. I have the amplifier hooked up to my PC wich serves as an AirPlay receiver for my iPad. I stream music from Spotify trough the speakers. I have not had a chance to hear other B&O products but i am planning on it. I am searching for headphones for music listening ( all kinds of music, but not jazz or heavy metal) and i can't decide on Bang & Olufsen's A8 earphones or Beats by dr.dre Studio from 2011.
Nice speakers! Not sure we have had any 4700 owners around before! In the UK, they were not sold, the 3800 being the replacement. Not so sure about the headphones - Form 1 B&O headphones are excellent and have a superb sound - just watch for disintegrating foam.

Congrats Sigtor98, your experience, the result of it,is simliar to mine. When I got the M75 into my apartment, what happaned was that I have started to listen to music every single moment I have free time.My expensive "old modern" speakers from 2004 something, is now down in the locker, and frankly I never listened to music before, I thought it was because I was ear-tired because of my audio profession. My B&O spekaers changed alot in my life, i dig music like never before, crank up the volum, and music culture has come back into my life. I sing, dance and dig the music, the music gets my happy, and my girlfriend, feels my positive vibes. So basicly my B&O speakers, have changed so much more then just a box in the room.B&O do fabolous music re-producers. Incredible engineering.
My re-capped M75 are my precious diamonds.
Peter, is the 4700 considered more rare then the other in that age line of speakers?
Here in Sweden that age line is kinda of hard to get hold of, 2400, 3000, show up for sale once in a while. but I have seen one pair 4702 for sale over my recent active B&O period.
I have a pair 5800 that is in the line of renovation after delivery from south part of Sweden and I think was lucky getting them.
I have a customer who has a pair of 4702's in OK cosmetic condition. They have just been sitting around for years, and he offered them to me for a really cheap price.
No doubt that I'll have to invest some work into them.
I've been thinking about using them for my main speakers, instead of my S45's.
What do you think?
Why not !Re-cap ´em and try them out. I would have bought them in a second.
