Hi, if anyone has an old V1 TV and hasn't already got an activation code to enable the Smart TV feature, you can now get this activation code for free by contacting your dealer.

What about people who have a first generation v1 and who paid to get the activation code for the Smart TV function? Will they get reimbursed? Probably not, I guess. In French we call them "les dindons de la farce"...

... are B&O now being run by DelBoy & Rodders? :)

Reminds me of the Russian Video camera episode...

As an aside just listened Valerie Gergyev & the VPO playing Tchaikovsky symphony no5 through my lab 9s, thanks to B&O for helping to deliver a spine tingling performance

Its on the dealer intranet so all dealers should know about it. I believe it is being offered foc as it is a prerequisite to being able to use the new Spotify app on the V1.

That is for sure (the V1....key).

The danish retailers already started sending e-mails with the offer to 'older V1' costumers.

Actually they posted it on the BeoPlay FaceBook page a few hours ago. I have been questioning the price to B&O for some time by email by the way. Really happy that they changed their mind about the price.

BeoSound Core, BeoSound 9000, BeoSound Century,
BeoLit 15, BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay P2, BeoPlay H9 3rd Gen, BeoPlay H6, EarSet 3i,
BeoVision Eclipse Gen 2 55", BeoPlay V1-40,

Thank you for that info Martin

Is this a world wide situation (as I'm in Australia) or does it only apply to Europe?

Spotify is available in Australia, and I understand I would need a premium account, and the web media activation key for my V1-40 (which is now about 15 months old) to be able to access spotify.  My V1 is fully up to date as regards it's software.

I looked at the 'smart tv' option when it came out, but as I have an Apple TV, I didn't see any urgent need to get the activation key.

However, with spotify now being available, it is probably well worth getting.

Many thanks again - BTW I love my V1-40 as much, if not more than when I first got it - superb TV and excellent Value for Money.

And for the naysayers, I see it won a coveted Red Spot design award a while back.... Big Smile

Kind regards

John... Cool

My dealer (in Europe) is not aware that the Webmedia activation key would be for free. According to him it is still 100€.

How about your dealers?

Hi John, yes it is worldwide - just make a call to your dealer, they should be able to give you the key(code) over the phone 👍

A refund for what? The V1 price went up by the same amount as the activation key costs, so you would have paid no more than the cost of a V1 with Smart TV if you bought the activation key?

So people who paid the old price get the £100 upgrade free. It's probably only the principle in her eyes. Still, we have a great tv with the feature already!
