+1.

BeoSound 5 is a 'lift your a** from the couch and go to the device' concept.
Why should the Connect version come to BS5?

There is a tv - and there is a BV
I didn't time it, but I'm sure mine took less than 15 mins.

^^ What he said. The only thing Connect would offer the BS5 would be control of the content and remote volume from your portable device. A MLGW can take care of the volume remotely and select the next tracks. I can't imagine the option would come to BS5 that would allow for direct content control for Spotify to the BeoSound 5, but you never know. 3 years ago who would have that Spotify would be on the BS5 to begin with.
w5bno123:How long did the update take? Mine is still flashing red after 15mins!
I didn't time it either, but it was less than 15 minutes. More like 5-8.
So - how does 'Connect' work on the A9?
What's the difference in daily use?
There are both good and bad things about using Connect instead of Airplay.
The good:
The connection has been rock solid so far. No drop outs what so ever. (Not that this have been a big issue with Airplay after an upgrade of my wifi network)
The battery life of my iPhone is unaffected by music playback, which is really nice. Airplay can be quite battery intensive when used for several hours per day.
The bad:
Most of this have to do with the Spotify app. I haven't really had time to test it thoroughly yet, but it seems that after a period of time without contact between the App and the speaker, selecting playback of a new song causes the sound to start playing from the iPhone and not the A9.
I have also experienced that the song/album art in the Spotify app doesn't match the song playing. Again this is when there haven't been contact between the to devices for some time, and a new song is selected on the iPhone.
Pressing the volume up/down buttons on the iPhone doesn't change the volume on the A9. This have do be done inside the Spotify App. This is properly the biggest disappointment compared to using Airplay. It's just inconvenient to open the App every time you need to change volume. This is the only thing on my "bad" list that can't be fixed by software updates. It's a natural limitation in iOS when the Spotify App is used like a remote instead of a music player.
Can someone confirm, that if you "seed" a playlist or a starmarked song, on your A9- then turn your Iphone off, the playlist will continiue to the end of that playlist. Or will it seed a new radio-playlist from the last song ?
BeoMegaMan:If all SW is up to speed try unplugging the router, idevice and A9, then restarting all. I had a client with similar issues that was cured that way. Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there
