Hi,

Since always I have used this adapter:

to connect external line level devices to any input of my beomasters.

The pinout of this adapter can be described with this sketch from PPs home page (a superb home page BTW)

I now want to connect an external non beo sub via powerlink to rca adapter and found this:

so the same pinout obviously, and I tryed it with the same adapter...

but even with the volume of the Beomaster and the external amp (i tryed both the sub and a receiver) at really high level the sound was modest at most.

did I miss something here or should it work?

Hej BeoLignage

as stated, I have tried to use the PL of the BM as input for a power amplifier, but the level is too low, much lower than compared to a headphone jack on a phone or tablet. is there a setting for the volume of the PL, to adjust on a beomaster with speaker out?

okay, sorry...

the input on the non beo power amp seems to be the issue. i tryed to loop the signal through the beomaster, i.e. tablet to right channel input tape 2, right channel from powerlink to left channel input tape2 and no right speaker connected.

result is that the a good sound level is reached at 70 out of 90 volume. back to normal connection and the sound level corresponds to aprox. 54.

a small calculation shows that this makes perfekt sence when the volume is controled twice.

i.e. 70 out of 90 is 78% => twice regulated yields 0.78x0.78 equals 0.608 or 61% which multiplyed with 90 is (drumroll) 54.7

so all in all, the chamatics of PP are correct, as one would expect. and everyone looking for a powerlink to RCA adapter without trigger can use the one above
