Cooling fans on my BV 7-32 have stopped working. See there are some for sale on Ebay (2nd hand) but I had R10 000 stolen from my account via paypal last week. Luckily it has been refunded but I'm not keen on using paypal again!

Are they not just normal computer fans? Can I not purchase some in my country and fit them? Anyone have any information on them. I've looked in the service manual but it doesn't say much.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

Ben

Are you sure, that it's the fans that is defective?

I have yet to see a defective fan in any BV7 and it's even more unlikely if both became defective at the same time?

You have to disassemble the TV anyway, so i would check the fan-voltage before replacing them.

I just assumed it was the fans as the tv said fan error. I purchased it from an old lady who hadn't cleaned out the fans ever.

They were clogged with dirt and dust...I think the one hardly turned. I will try and test the fan-voltage before replacing.

Thanks for your advice.

Ahh okay, so there was signs of life.

I read it as if they were totally dead. Then i think your right in just replacing the fans Smile

So I did replace the fans...they were broken. New ones worked straight away. Only problem was I bought cheap Sunon ones.

They are much noisier as they turn faster I think but I wanted to make sure that it wasn't some other problem. I will try and find proper replacements for the fans. Actually quite an easy job to do. At least there is air going into the TV for now as we are going into summer and rather be safe than sorry.

Good evening Beoworld !

Since a couple of months i'm the PROUD owner aof a BV 7-32 MK III  - Typ. 9331 ...what can i say, i love it :)

But.....ATM i'm viewing  the TV is in THIS position

but WITHOUT the stand, i'm planning to buy a Motorized  Floor Stand Typ. 4091...and i wanna ask you:   do the FANS shooting air downwards, or are they sucking air inside ?????

.I mean, the TV is on the BL 7.1 which is literally on the hard granite floor, which is cleaned once a week with a Hoover...but certainly is the MOST celaned place of the house Smile....AM I filling my fans with dust maybe ????

MAny thanks for the answer, happy 90th B&O

Hi Mindphaser.

You mean you have the BL7.1 placed on the floor and the BV7 balanced on top of it?

If so I would be more concerned about it falling over or airflow being restricted than any potential problems with dust. There will always be a build up of dust on the fan blades (and indeed the rest of the fan) over time, as well as a gradual build up of dust within the TV but this rarely becomes an issue unless severe.

The BL7.1 will certainly sound better if mounted properly as the woofers face downwards so will be blocked whilst it is sat directly on the floor.

Kind Regards,

Martin.

The fans pull air into the TV not out.

Well, the BV 7 - 32 is on top of the BL 7.1 ....but is NOT balanced on the flor 'cause it's placed against the wall with the Walla Bracket Typ. 4095....originally it was shippped with it :)...i bought the BV 7-32 second hand, as i previously specified.

So, time for moving as fast as i can from the Wall Bracket Type 4095 to the Motorized Floor Stand 4091 !

PS: in case i would like to CLEAN those fan blades, would be it a difficult operation?

Thanks again,B&O still rules for me !!!

The really kind seller from eBay.de answered at my question:

I am sorry, but there are two different items. The fan-dimensions for BeoVision 7-40 and for BeoVision 7-32 are not the same.

Hi Mindphaser

Do you have a problem with your fans are are you just concerned they might have got dirty? Unless they have either stopped working (in which case the BV7 will display 'fan error'), or they have become noisy, I wouldn't worry about them..

Kind Regards,

Martin.
