Good evening all.

I have a link room adjacent to the master room and because there's sometimes interference between the two, I'd like to set the link room to option 4.

I thought all was working fine until I pressed the button on the transceiver to mute the link room speakers. It had no effect. The diode on the panel blinks when mute is pressed, but the speakers does not mute. Same thing with a long press. The funny thing is that it un-mutes fine when the button is pressed. And works as expected in option 2.

Any thoughts?

Hi, I am pretty sure that option 4 only works with the MCL2A. Try to look it up in the handbook.

Beosound 5 Encore + Beosystem 5500 + S45.2; BV7-40 MKV + BL7.1 + BL14.4+ AppleTV4; various link rooms with MCL2 A or MCL2 A/V + RL60.2 / CX100 / CX50 & Cona  / IWS2000; BG4000; Beosystem 1200 + BV1600.

Hi Jasper

Most frequent source of error with option programing seem to be the different commands for the programming of the audio, video and link options. The different commands for the Beo4 and the BL1000 are another source of error. I also had such problems and lost a lot of time (Two Main Systems and a total of 4 connected Linkrooms. The best approach imho is to start from scratch (Main room and Link-Rooms) with a remote you can trust with new batteries. As far as i remember the manuals you also have two special options for the muting with the MCL2AV. Another source of error could be the amplifier or the active speaker you have in the linkroom.

Best regards

David

Old thread but I have the exact same issue without a solution yet.

Cheers.

Have you tried to reset the beomaster by unplugging everything from the mains, then first reconnecting all the link-room MCL2A and MCL2A/V, then plugging in the master, then reprogramming all the options, starting with the master. But still I am not sure if opt 4 works with MCL2AV, or just with MCL2A.
