Hey Everyone,
Been looking around here and other places on-line but unable to find a definitive answer.
I am wondering if there is any way you can connect a record player (ideally any one, hopefully not just a beogram) to a BeoSound 3000?
- Can it be done?
- Can I use any record player?
- Do I need a preamp? and in turn specific cables, or a specific preamp.
Thanks in advance!
You can connect nearly any turntable to the 3000, just check if the TT has a preamp or not, some of them has. If the TT does not have a preamp you will need one like this
This one is from Phonopreamps, TC 754 F, and it has a gain control and more connections, check on Phonopreamps site, they have more types.
Here the back side
The preamp must be connected to the AUX jack with a cable, something like this
This one is made for in and out lines, you will only need the in line. It is a 5 pin DIN to 4 RCA cable.
I had my Beosound 3000 connected to sound from TV, DVD, set top box and turntable.
Now go and get yourself a nice Beogram to fit, I had a BG 2404 connected to the BS3000 for years, before I got infected with the BeoVirus, and now i have several BGs and BMs
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
I forgot. Welcome to the forum, and dont be a stranger, come back and tell us what you did and how. And dont forget, we are here to help.
Thanks for the welcome and thanks very much for your assistance! I will report my findings.
This is for my father, who has a BS3000 and an existing non B&O Turntable.
