I am still fairly new to all things B&O. I think I already have beovirius!! I currently have a BM 5000 set up to some RL 60.2s,that i use with my ipad/iphone, which I am happy with. But I am looking to get something a bit newer. So I was wondering if you guys with a lot more knowledge than me could guide me regarding a new set up. I am leaning towards a Beosound 3000 with Beolab 4000s. Both look stunning, what would the difference in sound be? Or would there be a different set up that anyone could recommend? Budget is still fairly limited though.

thanks in advance,

Aaron.

Hi Aaron,

I would upgrade to a BM7000.

And start saving for a set of BL4000 - or better the new BL17.

With the BM7000 you can make a 'cheap' Linkroom adding a MCL2A with the RL60's - when you have bought the BL4000 (or BL17 or....).

And - if wanted - you can integrate with a ML-based BeoVision through a BeoLink Converter,

(or even a newer NL-based BV - again through a converter)..

Greetings Millemissen

There is a tv - and there is a BV

Personally I think the Beosound Ouverture/3000 and BL4000 is a great upgrade for you. It's different enough to your current system, sounds great and will give you enjoyment interacting with it. Beolab Penta's will come laterBig Smile

If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments.

Stage one complete. I have just got myself a beosound 3000 on e bay, now I am looking for some beolabs to go with it. Thanks for the advice. Do you think the 4000s would be the best option? I have seen Pentas on e bay and they look impressive, but I have never heard them before. To be honest the only b&o I have heard is my set up.

Hi Aaron,

Pentas are great speakers, used them in our livingroom (30qm) with BC9500. But depends on your roomsize as they are huge! We replaced them with a BS3000 and BL8000 and I have to say, that I prefer Sound and Looks of the BL8000 in our environment - we only use for Music and not for TV!

in our Office (16qm) i had BL6000 attached to the BC9500 and replaced recently with BL3000. Nice looking and warm Sound. Great combo!

Upstairs in similar roomsize we use BL2500, which is also decend sounding and looking very nice with the BC2300! Just the classic look!

Don't now the BL4000, but I would go for BL8000. My 5cts worth.

best regards,

Twowheel

Beolab 3000/4500, compact, display and great looks on your wall.

Go through what B&O products before and now that has or still is being made. Decide then on what design and so forth you like.

All B&O has the vibe and sounds that makes each product cool. Only a few to a much less degree.

Thanks for all of your advice as usual everyone has been very helpful. Stage 2 is complete I have just got some BL 4000. This is quite a big deal for me as I have been saving up for them. I will be picking both lots up tomorrow, can't wait to hear what they sound like. I have been really impressed with the BM 5000 and 60.2s I will be sad to take them down.

Thanks everyone for your advice and time.

I will let you know how it all goes, if anyone is interested. It feels like Xmas eve already.
