I have bought a pair of beolab5
but do not know how to setup it. now, after pluging supply in about 15-20s, the light turn red then turn off.
so, what should i do now to setup this pair of beolab 5 ???
Help me :(
Sounds like normal behavior, according to the manual. If the light is red for a short while then turns off it means the speaker is in standby. How do you have it connected to a source component, and what is it/are they connected to?
You can download the manual here:

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
Did you get a PIN-code from the seller?
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
What do you have them connected to?
Too long to list....
It is normal if you are on SW 3.3
The soft ware is designed like that to reduce power consumption in standby.
Cant you get any help from your dealer?
Thank you so much for your supportingBut I've just wonder why, when typing Pin code for beolab5, there is no key signal sound feedback?
Somebody please help me. I have tried to set up pin code for my beolab5. I follow the steps in manunal document (P14). After the step pressing touch field button on top of the loudspeaker, which i want to active, then that loudspeaker confirm my selection with the sound like "ding-dong, ding-dong," . I have no idea with these signal sound.
Do you know what these sound mean?
and how can I solve it to continue active my beolab5 ?

Did you press the PIN code on your BEO Remote? In that case. the sound you hear is a confirmation that the pin is either rejectet or acceptet.
When pressing the pin on your beoremote the speakers will maka a sound everytime you press a button on the remote and after 4 correct presses it will make a sound as you describe.

What signal do you feed to your speakers? CD player, MP3, ??
Who did you buy them from? If it's a dealer, surely he/she can help in person!
The Beolab 5 must be in option 1 to receive the Beo 4 remote signal to do the pin code. You can use the Beo 4 to change the option number. You then need to reset it to option 0 if you are using the speakers with a B&O audio or video system to turn off the remote to the speakers. All of this must be done with only one speaker plug in to power at a time. Otherwise one speaker will receive the wrong codes.
To unlock the pincode system
Each BeoLab 5 must be switched on – one at a time – before the pincode can be entered. This procedure is necessary because the Beo4 remote signals otherwise will activate all BeoLab 5 loudspeakers in the room, thereby sending them wrong pincodes.
1 Connect all BeoLab 5 loudspeakers to a Bang & Olufsen system – however, do not connect them to the mains, yet!
2 Connect one BeoLab 5 to the mains.
3 Press RADIO (for example) on the Beo4 remote
control to switch BeoLab 5 on.
The indicator light slowly flashes red and green.
3 Enter the four-digit pincode for that particular BeoLab 5 on the Beo4 remote control*. BeoLab 5 confirms each digit with a ‘beep’.
4 Repeat the above procedure for each BeoLab 5 – one at a time.
When the pincode is accepted, the indicator light shines green – indicating that BeoLab 5 has been unlocked.
If the pincode is not accepted, BeoLab 5 emits a sound signal, and you must start over again with the four-digit code.
If an incorrect pincode is entered five times, BeoLab 5 will lock up. In order to be able to enter the correct pincode, you will have to leave BeoLab 5 connected to the mains, and wait a minimum of three hours before attempting to enter the pin- code again. If BeoLab 5 is disconnected from the mains within these three hours, the timer will reset and upon reconnection a new three hour wait period will commence. After three hours, you will be able to make five attempts again to enter the pincode, before being locked out for another three hours. This cycle will repeat until the correct pincode is entered.
Finally, I have sloved this problem. Thank you everyone so much for your supporting .
