Hi all, I have encountered a new problem with using the Beo6 remote. When I select an album to play using the Beo6 the album artwork appears on the screen and then the word STOPPED is shown.  On the BS5 screen the artwork is shown for a brief moment then disappears leaving the command 'LOAD DISC'.  If I then use the BS5 control wheel and select the album press OK it plays.  The Beo6 then starts to work.  This only started yesterday and it does it for any album I wish to play. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what is the fix please.

Yes, I will contact my dealer in the morning but I don't expect any quick fixes there. Any help would be much appreciated.

Just figured out what has happened. B&O have just released an update which enables CD's to be played by the ripper. My Beo6 is trying to play the CD instead of my stored music.

So guess what, back to my number 1 gripe. I now need my remote reprogrammed, so instead of it being a 5 minute job with me reconfiguring my remote, I have to contact my dealer and get him to travel the 40 mile round trip. All due to B&O's policy not to issue the software to it's customers as they can't be trusted to do it themselves.

If you have no fear in learning to use the software for the Beo 6 you should search and download the internet for the software and program the remote yourself.
Perhaps you can ask your dealer to send your configuration file via email; otherwise you have to start from scratch - but you can program it like YOU want. :)

Thanks TWG.  I already have a version 6.0 of the software but it is outdated and does not have spotify.  The last time that my dealer visited to reprogram my B6 I ended up driving the software as my understanding of it was better than his.  As far as I am concerned the software is very good, well written and is fairly intuitive and together with the instruction manual is not anything to be fearful of.  I honestly cannot see any downside to B&O releasing the software to those of us who want it.  I have read with interest some of the threads where people are talking about it being illegal to have the software.  It is not illegal in way shape or form.  It is just a company decision made by B&O.  In my opinion a very bad one.

Yes I probably could get a later version of the software, although at the moment I cannot find it, but that is not the point.  After spending the thick end of £25k on B&O equipment I don't want to be treated like some small school boy being told that I can't have the software because it's for my own good and that most people don't want it.

At this point in time I really am coming to the conclusion that I have invested in the wrong equipment/company.

Sounds like BS5 source assignments have changed after the update.

Assuming N.MUSIC has controled your stored music before, now maybe N.MUSIC will control the new CD ripper/player....(?)

You don`t have to reprogram your Beo6, just change assignments in BS5 menu.

And yes, you can control Spotify by a Beo6 configured via CT 6.0. Just add an A.MEM button with corresponding sub buttons for left-right-up-down, number page and colour buttons for playlists. I have renamed A.MEM sub menu to Spotify - done.

Thanks Stefan, I never thought to reassign the BS5 (neither has my dealer). I will try it tonight.  Also, thank you for the Spotify work around.  Wouldn't it be nice if we didn't all have to figure out these work around's and have the proper software.
