Hello!I have a problem. In my bedroom I have a BeoPlay V1 and in my office (which is outside my bedroom) I have a BeoVision Avant. The issue is that if the door is open between the two rooms the signal from a beo4 will turn both TV´s on. I want one of them to be used as a link-tv so that I have to press LIST -> LINK -> TV to turn the Avant in the office on. The problem is that the Avant in the Office don´t want to accept V.OPT 4. (Which I think is the mode to put a TV in the correct "link" setting for two tv´s in the right room.). Perhaps this is not available on the Avant and only on newer sets? I don't want the bedroom tv to be overly complicated i.e. using link so it has to be the avant. Anyone who got a clue what I can do? I like the Avant so I don't want to replace it just yet. Perhaps it can support V. OPT 4 or any other solution with a newer software?

You can reduce ir receiving range of your BVs with help of Scotch tape and a black marker.
Fasten the tape behind the ir receiver glass and darken it with the marker (highlighter?).
Works great with my BL2000 in the kitchen next to the livingroom.
Beo made a special tape for this purpose, but I don't think it is produced anymore.
If you have bought a new Beo4 with your V1 you can reduce ir strength in Beo4s service menu.
Must be desribed somewhere in this forun how to do this....?
Set main BV to V.OPT 1/2 and link BV to V.OPT 5/6.
Stefan
Put your V1 in V.OPT 4, and set up the remote that goes with it, the one with joystick, to ZONE >> LINK
The command LINK will now be added before every command you send.

Access the service menu by pressing stby + LIST at the same time, and then MENU + (joystick) at the same time. Press ^ several times until the display reads IRPWR: X. Again, 1 is the lowest and 7 is the max IR signal strength (default is 4)

Thanks for the tip. I actually did this as soon as I got the V1 because it would trigger a lot of things in my house before . I even told my retailer about this so he could remove the black cap in front of their Beo4´s. However this doesn't help from the office because that Beo4 (and all my other Beo4s except the V1 one) is older and don't have that feature in their firmware. If they had this would have solved it!

Thanks! I did not know that I could put the Beo4 into a "zone mode". Perfect! I´ll try it as soon as I get home.

Thanks for the tip :) I´ll try the V.OPT 4 + ZONE - LINK first. I hope it will work good. But anyways good to know. I might try it.
I have done this now and YES it works superb! BUT! One mayor flaw. I can not control my bedroom lutron light anymore :(. I added LINK so I can press LIST-LINK-LIGHT-DOWN/UP but I think it is one step to much for any one else than me to remember. I guess I have to live with it like that. (Didnt even know you could link lights so a bit strange :D). Otherwise I might switch back to the other mode. Too bad the Avant doesnt support Mode 4. Perhaps time to upgrade to perhaps a 7-40 or 7-32? The thing that holds me back is that they consume more power (I think so at least) and that the picture might be worse because of old panels.
