Hello Peter and Svend fans.
That's it, after a month waiting for delivery (which gave me plenty time to sell my BV10) the BV11-46 is here.
Of course, as usual, I will confirm that there is an improvement from BV10 MK1 in therms of picture and sound quality.
BV10 picture was excellent so the improvement is small (seems that the darks are darker and the clouding as become imperceptible if you don't search for it) but for the sound it's an other story, just wow.
Incredible sound, real bass the Tv alone.
Appart from the improvement in sound and picture, there are other noticeble improvements like the fact that the TV stays cold (you could fry an egg on the back of the BV10), it's silent (can't ear any fan), the Puc devices reactions are much faster (the PS3 fires up immediatly instead of 3/4 seconds !).
And now after years using the PS3's USB port, theres's a direct USB port which we used sunday afternoon for a HDD. Easy.
Easy also the Youtube fonction under the Beo4 list, direct access.
One thing I noticed on the first evening which seemed to have disappeared since is a picture that brightens half a second regularly (every 10 minutes or so) in a very dark room (with my cable box Tv only). The automatic light sensor is maybe too efficient (or defficient) but I don't whant to switch it off.
For the moment it's the only thing I keep an eye (or two !) on.
Well done B & O !
An other pic.
A shame that we can't post nice big pics.
Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
Very nice hope you continue to get enjoyment from it.

Very nice...I received my 11-55 a year ago and have enjoyed since. If you are interested there is a way to share the speakers between the BV11 and the BS9000 without the nl/ml box, that the experts on here shared with me earlier this year. The only thing is that you lose remote control functionality on the BS9000 (other than turning it on), and of course the TV needs to be on (this is not a problem as you can always mute the picture). I was also amazed the sound of the BV11, but when I connect my Beolab 1s it became something else. Not just films but also music. Let me know if you are interested and I can send an email..
BV11-55, BS9000, BL1, BL19, Transmitter 1, Beo4, Beocom 6000, BeoTalk1 200, Sennheiser HD600, McIntosh MHA100

Just sent you the first of 2 emails...more to come

Or use the Almando PowerLink Switch
By the way - the trick?
Is that too complicated to publish here?
A link to where 'the experts on here shared with me earlier this year' would have been nice.
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
Millemissen: rxcohen: By the way - the trick? Is that too complicated to publish here? MM
rxcohen:
The work around is to use the AV input or the Digital coax input on the 11. AV = analog.
Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there
Not complicated, just a long description in terms of the settings on the BV11.... As mentioned the trick is to connect the BS9000 to the BV11 via S/PDIF connector, using the appropriate cable from Sounds Heavenly (which is the same S/PDIF cable for the BeoLab 5). And then connect the speakers to the TV. It works nicely except the Beo4 cannot control the BS9000 other than turning it on.
It took me a while to figure out the right settings on the BV11, so the key ones to make this work are:
For the Integration of the BS9000 and BV11 1. Go to main menu, setup 2. choose product integration, b&o connect 3. the settings for the 3 options should be - NONE, YES, 1 To define the source 1. Go back to main menu, source list 2. go to AV 3. press the red button on the Beo4 wheel to edit 4. pick a SOURCE NAME - I chose BS9000 5. pick the button on the remote want to use to turn it on - I chose V.MEM 6. It will prompt you if you want to use the remote to control the BS9000, choose yes 7. go back to SOCKET: AV, choose advance settings 8. for SOUND MODE, choose Music 9. S/P-DIF, choose YES 10. Go back to main menu, source list, SPOTIFY 11. Change the button on SPOTIFY from CD to something else or NONE, otherwise you will have a conflict with the BS9000 And finally I set the BS9000 to VM mode 0 I told you it was long :)
@rxcohen
Thanks - and how about 'Radio' from the BS9000
Radio does not work is my best guess. If you needed that functionality this is where the nl/ml box would come in, or much better yet spotify which is now built in to the BV11. Again the only drawback for me is the loss of remote control to skip through tracks and CDs on the BS9000. But getting up from the sofa from time to time perhaps is not such a bad idea :)
Hi rxcohen,
There is a way to get the 9000 working via remote control when it has no speakers connected - I can provide a Powerlink Blanking Plug which fits into one of the Powerlink sockets on the 9000 to make it think that it still has speakers connected, then it will respond to disc and track change commands as normal.
The TV has its own digital radio tuner, so with careful setup (thanks for your detailed explanation by the way!) you should have access to CD and radio as normal via the TV speakers.
Kind regards, Steve.

All the reviews praise the sound of the bv11 and not the picture , oddly enough I find the sound fairly underwhelming compared to my old avant ( but still impressive compared to the sony's in my house ) but the picture quality is jaw dropping , simply incredible imo.
Really impressed with it tbh. :)

Remember there's a hell of a lot of cabinet space in the Avant, which helps significantly. If B&O produced a flat screen with the Avant dimensions, would anyone buy it? No. But it would help improve the audio experience. I guess we can't have both - flat screen and the cabinet space required for the bass.
I'm fairly impressed with the audio on my BV11, particularly with a sub. A sub definitely helps.

That was the BV5!
i have found my wall hinge-mounted BV11 to be the equal of the Avant and BV5 in terms of sound.
