Hello all,

I am contemplating buying a BO earset 1 to be used on my iphone5. But a brief run through the web shows discouraging result - not compatible.

Is this still correct or there's a way to go around this problem? I do like the BO earset design.

Appreciate all your feedbacks.

cheers.

I have a few of those. I could give it a try with my Galaxy S4.

I use a Earset 1 mobile with iPhone 5. It requires an adapter but with that it works fine.

I have used both the Apple TTY adapter and an old Nokia adapter labled AD-53. Both works fine. The adapter is used to convert from 2,5 mm (Earset 1mobile) to 3,5 mm (iPhone 5). It might also change the pin-layout, but I'm not sure. It works anyway but a little bit bulky - the adapter is about 20 mm high.

Hello Iano,

Thanks. Your information is very helpful. I have a clearer picture of what's not compatible. The jack's dimension.

Now my quest is to find a local store that have the adaptors mentioned.

Hi,

i am using earset 1 with iphone and ipad.

finding an adapter was a bit tricky, I think the issue is that the iphone/ipad has that funky 4 connection layout on the jack to support stereo headphones and the mic not just stereo headphones. If you just take a simple 2.5 to 3.5 adapter that may not support the micro ...

I was able on my 3 rd try to find one that worked, maybe check with your B&O dealer

cheers

JJ

TTY adapter is the way to go, however eith iphone 5 the apple one sticks out too much, would recommend one with short cable or an angled one.

Cheers

Hi JK, thanks for the feedback. I have yet to receive the jack and is eager to try the BO out on my ip5. I do notice the somehow longer TTY jack by Apple but I  willing to give it a try until I manage to find one that is a bit subtle. Nevertheless , all your opinions and suggestions have been great and appreciated.

Once I have them on, I will feedback the results.

Many thanks

Just curious here; but did any of you go the route of replacing the 2.5mm plug with an 3.5mm plug instead of using a bulky adapter? Asking since I found this thread after posing the same question in this thread.

I bought and using the TTY jack now for my B&O with my Iphone5S. No problem or any noise distortion.

Great.
