Hello everyone my initial problem of the turntable not manually cueing properly has now been solved (thanks).but unfortunantly its now got a new problem.when the play button is pressed the turntable starts and the tone arm moves in about 10mm and then stays in this position with the platern spinning and the buttons are unresponsive .has anyone come across this before.

Thanks to you all ,and a happy new year, chris

See your other thread.
Could also be a problem related to aging capacitors. Did you replace the lot?
Or a broken PCB trace. This happens quite easily and unnoticed when soldering on the board. Can be
very difficult to locate.
