How to connect a HDR2 to a Beovision 3 28

I have connected a HDR2 to a Beovision 3 28 with a scartcable and an antenna cable. But how to setup the Beovision  so I can go the menu of the HDR2? It seems that the beovision does not see the HDR2. Does anybody have an idea?

Hi,

you will have to configure the scartsocket to which the HDR2 is connected in the BV3 menu.

After assigning a BEO4-button to that input you should be able to start up the HDR2 - and to enter the menu.

Both userguides are avaible on the B&O homepage!

Hello,

with a BV 10 a HDR2 works only if connected to AV4 socket, then it will be configured automaticly. I don't no if this is similar with a BV 3-28.

I think from memory it's V.TAPE or V.MEM (?)

What ever I try only the red dot from the HDR2 keeps burning. And on the BV3 I see a black screen with v.tape. Anyone a idea how to proceed?

Thanks kallasr. I have the normal user guide, but this does not help much either. The other problem is I am at my parents now where I try to install this. I will be leaving sunday as well. If you have more then the normal user instructions I will be interested though.

As already mentioned, HDR2 will be automaticly recognized by a Beovision, no configuration required. You have to disconnect BV3 and HDR2 from the mains and then connect a scart cable. Finally connect both to the mains. If you press VTAPE on Beo4, red light on HDR2 becomes green. Please try all scart inputs of BV3.

Furthermore ensure using a full wired scart cable, because HDR2 receives commands from BV via a pin of scart cable and not directly from Beo4.

If this doesn't work I assume BV3 will not work with HDR2. Connecting HDR2 to BV3 is not mentioned in the manual.

yes, I have pdfs talking about how to set up with different chassis types (avant, 3-32, 3-28, etc)

Hopefully it is not for hdr1.... I can check only on Sunday.

Very sorry, was just for HDR1....

I was able to retrieve the docs from here.

But I have read just use the V.TAPE or V.MEM socket of your TV and it should work out of the box.
My guess: scart cable not fully wired...

I removed the mains cable instead of using the power off buton. Switch the scart port of the bv3 and turned the scart cable the other way arround. One of them or all should have done the trick.
