According to the earnings report released today, the B&O Play TV will launch this quarter as a "TV concept". Bang & Olufsen also says that they have very high expectations for the new TV. Smile

Looks ok to me. I can see a few Beolit design cues in the V1.

V1 sounds great. They talk about a new video engine and an integration with tablets. I hope that the audio part will be good (at least as my awesome 12 years old Beovision 1). The 40" will be mine! (the only problem is that also Apple is working on a tv... and my wife, like me, is addicted to Apple.

I think that the new CEO is making a great job! What do you think? He is realistic and a the same time he is not "killing" B&O with bad stuff (do you remember the pre Steve Jobs coming back era? Dusty Grey computer to try to create margins?)

Dealers I asked tells me that picture and sound quality are good. They are amazed by the quality and features of V1 and told me to look forward to the launch.

Two V1 pictures are clearly displayed on the link above? (unless they've now been removed)

What moxxey?

Looks like they've been removed. Two images were up there previously. Looks like a TV version of the Beolit 12 and/or a cheap version of the BV12.

I don't know if i like the look of it, i think that the bv8-40 looked better but hey i suppose different picture angles might change my perspective on it. Does anyone know if it will be availible in black?

Thanks for posting this...... it must be a joke right?  What a pitiful design, particularly of the 'stand'.

I am not sure about the stand either... but as always early photos do not do justice to products. I didn't like the Beolab 12 pictures, but liked them in the flesh...

@ markiedee

I don´t like the design to, it looks for me like a low-budget-TV.

But my dealer says, the BeoPlay TV V1 looks like an Loewe Connect and this TV has the same Floor-Stand.

Here the webside: http://resmu.es/wordpress/?p=95

And also...

The TV coming in white and black.

I have to be honest in saying that the new loewe connect id led tv looks better imo design wise... i'm hoping that this is a really late april fools joke, the design is not really looking appealing right now but it could look alot different in the flesh.

The specs are good. If it had been link-able I would have bought one for my bedroom.

We will have to see that one in the flesh, but yes, it actually looks a lot like the old Connect...

Am I missing something .... 3 speaker connections (plus inbuilt centre speaker?) and yet 5.1 -- surely at best it is 3.1?

Also, have I missed references to aerials and DVB modules -- or is this truly an internet age, monitor solution that is leaving the 20th century behind ?

Ed it's sure getting that way and fast. I'm currently sat on my Boeing at East Mids airport watching Top Gun through Netflix on my IPad, which I have tethered to my IPhone. Although i am still buying Blu Rays etc the brutal truth is that very soon the whole idea of putting plastic disks in a machine will suddenly seem so out of date. Still good, but just not as quick and accessible as wireless connectivity.

Looking forward to seeing the new tv either way, and getting out of this bloody airport for the 4th time this week!!!!!

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

4 flights in one week is a tad excessive !

actually your point about the plastic discs is a good one ... I have a small inventory of gifted BluRays and I still can't decide whether to buy a BR player (amazing how the cheapest BR player price is now below AUD100 and almost down amongst the cheaper DVD players).

however that then leads to the point of why so many HDMIs if in the end everything comes over the internet - it would be funny if within 5-10 years the incessant demand for more, more, more HDMI connection points became academic

In the old days - before DL passed away - loewe slavishly copied b&o , now , it's looking like it's going the other way around..

oh dear..

that tv looks awful , sorry , the stand looks like a bbq prop from homebase

Loewe is terrible in terms of material and feeling... I m sure that when we will see the new beo play v1 in the shop it will be' really interesting... Now we can't apprenciate the materials and the real design. For example the stand, in my opinion will be more interesting, a sort of industrial feeling..

Based on the photos I already own the stand; it's called a TV Table.

TV is ok - it looked better in the close up photos I saw earlier this week - but the stand isn't great, I'll agree.

3x powerlink two channels = Power link carries a stereo signal so 3 powerlinks will give you 6 channels.

The new B&O Play V1 is ugly as hell and price is far away from reality. You can get 32" sets which look better for 399€ in every supermarket here in germany.

I will definitly stay with my decission to take a 55" Pana VT50 which costs the same as the B&O 32", get a -238 and I'm done.

BeoSound 9000 MK3, BeoLab 8000, BeoLab 6000, BeoLab 3500, LCS9000, BeoLab 11, BeoLab 7.2, BeoLab 7.1, Beolab 4 PC, BeoCenter 2300, BeoSound Century, BeoSound 8, Beosound 2, BeoVision 7-40 MK2 , BeoVision 7-32 MK3, BeoVision 6-22, BeoVision 4-42, BeoMedia 1, BeoCom 4, BeoLink 1000, BeoLink 5, BeoLink 4 & BeoTime

Okay i know it's supposed to be an entry level tv but i think that they haven't thought the the design through properly, i had a thought in my head of what it would look like but it doesn't have that b&0 wow factor.

I thought that it would have looked like a  imac but with that b&0 sleekness i'm thinking that they designed it in a way so that it couldn't compete with the bv7s or bv10s in the design stakes but i think that they have shot them selfs in the foot by doing that as some tvs out there have a better and more appealing design.

I for one now feel pretty good and no longer have buyers regret after buying my panasonic 50gt50 as the design of that tv looks pretty high end aswell as the picture quality.

I'm not knocking b&0 but i have to be honest in saying again that the bv8-40 design was and still is much, much better.

Does anyone know if there is an USB-recording feature like on most cheap TVs?

Can the media player read mp3 from an USB Flash memory?

Lcd tv display type 100hz/120hz

I didn't know that samsung still making these panels.

Would the picture quality of this new entry tv better then the 'old ' beovision 8-40 mkII (200Hz)
