Hello everyone,

I'm happy to share the good news that after recapping my Beogram 8000 is now working flawlessly. The interesting thing is that it was already working fine before, but somehow I always felt that the rotation was not as stable as it should - but at the same time it was not obviously wrong, so I'm really happy that the recap magically made things work right. Now I understand why many people consider it a very good turntable!

One question: is it advisable to apply some lubrication to the main bearing? And if yes, exactly which kind of oil or grease should I use?

A funny thing: when tuning the suspension, do that with the tonearm in playing position, since the subchassis moves a bit when the tonearm comes towards the center of the platter! ;)

And a second question... Maybe someone compared the SMMC20CL and the SMMC20CL+ cartridges (equivalent to SMMC2 and SMMC1) and can tell me how big the difference is?

Thanks and all the best for the new year!

M
