Just bought my dream Beosound 5 with Ripper. I have just started to rip all my CD collection but the Beosound doesn't store the Album Artwork even when the Artwork comes up while ripping them. I am a Mac user only. Many thanks for any advice.
Seems to be a current software issue.
I would wait with the ripping untill that is solved.
But do contact your dealer with the question - let him report back to B&O as well.
It might speed up the process.
Untill then try transferring albums that you have ripped externally (or bought online) to the BM5-drive.

Hi Beofrankie
Make sure you drop a copy of your coverart in form of Jpeg. Rename it to folder.jpeg , an drop it into the album folder. If that doesn't do the trick you could use a program called MediaRage to apply coverart to your files.

BeoFrankie wants to rip his cd's WITH the BS5-ripdrive.
That is where the trouble begins.
B&O should get that solved as soon as possible!

Check your software and make sure it has the latest update. I seem to recall that issue from when CD Ripper first came out.
I appreciate your advice on the Artwork problem. I've contacted my dealer. Could the programme Beoconect that I have downloaded on my Mac help me transfer Artwork over some how? Many thanks.
Yes, you need Beoconnect for mac. After you install, connect to your BS5, and it will show as a folder in finder. Open that and go into BS5 music folder.
Many thanks Peter, I shall get on it and see if I can resolve this artwork problem.
Hi
I've also just received a Beosound 5. Ive had exactly the same problem with the artwork disappearing! It is a known software issue. B&O assisted me to revert to a previous version of the software. That has fixed the problem. Hopefully a new software update soon to fix the issue!

David

BeoF: I've also lost some of my album art work. Here's what I do, though most would think I'm crazy.
I simply scan the album art, open with Preview, enhance and crop to fit (file size around 340-kB). Then I save that file to my destop. Once ripping is complete for that CD I use Beo Connect app, open it up and find the CD I just ripped, then go in an add to the bottom of the list (tracks) the album art I just scanned. Caution it must be named exact (folder.jpeg won't work) the program wants to see "folder.jpg". So just drag your album art into the scanned file and rename as per above and now you have a nice, bright, clear album art on your Beosound 5 screen. Tedious yes, but this helps you get around this limitation, and the dreaded "No Album Artwork" logo that seems to pop up. I'm too impatient to wait for a B&O fix, the dealer told me it's a Gracenote problem, since they supply the album art work and track naming, so I took that to mean I'm on my own if I want it done the right way. Hope this helps. Contact me if you need more assistance, or if you need artwork I've already scanned would be happy to send you what you need.
There's also a few more "tricks" to get your ripped CD's to show up correctly, contact me if you wish, I'll walk you through it. (by the way, the Gracenote CD art work is very low res, poor quality (20-25kb) which works OK for the thumbnail views, but looks faded and washed out when on the BS5 color screen).

Gysse already suggested MediaRage (Mac) to do this job.
If you are using Windows just get MP3Tag, and let that find your missing covers.
Thank you very much Joe! Really appreciate your time and explanation on this matter. Will be in contact with any problems I encounter, so far so good. All the best.
To add the cover imade to the ripped files is so easy; sorry, but I am a PC user and I can't show how to do. But my advice is to rip the CD's with the computer, doing so, you will save so much time.....
