Hello,
Thanks to efforts provided by Leslie, we could upgrade my BM 3500 to the SW release 2.2 and now the timer function is present as one programming possibility.
Here i have the following questions.
Firstly: is it possible to program the timer directly on the keyboard of the Beomaster? How to do it?
Secondly: my Beolink 1000 does not offer the possibility to program this function. Which remote control unit can be used to initiate and adjust this timer function. It looks like the Beolink 5000 is a possibility. Is there an other one? How to do it?
Thanks a lot for your advise and your help
Alain
Hello Alain,
I have had my (2-way) BeoSystem 4500 for many years now.
A long time ago I used the timer function often to make recordings from the radio tuner (you did such things in those days).
But as my old MX6000 (to which it was linked - with the AudioMaster in Option 0) was replaced by the Avant, the two-way communication had an end.
Only way to use the BL5000 (which I still have) was to go to the kitchen, where I had (and still have) a MCL2A Link.
That had an end, when I installed an Active Link (which is ML-based as you will know) in the room next to the kitchen. I choose to put my MCL2A in Link-option to avoid conflicts when using the sytem/speakers in those two rooms.
Next thing was to install another (I had a spare one) MCL2A in a cupboard (without speakers) in the hall (yes I did that!) just to be able to use this (bloody) programming function.
But this is now all history - i never use that function any more. So it does not really matter to me, if my BM4500 is two-way or not!
In older days I had the radio programmed to start playing in the morning - but I don't miss that either.
Only thing I do mIss from those 'two-way years', was the possibility to program my LC1's to turn on/off the light, when we were away for a couple of days.
My BS4500 (now without the BeoCord) though is still doing a good job - I have no plans of replacing it.
But long story short:
You can use the timer function with a BeoLink 5000 or with the 7000.
But not on the device directly - you can only set it to be part of a timer function (or not) in a BeoSystem with timer programming possibility.
I tried with a MC Panel (from a 5000 System) as welll, but did not succeed.
Greetings Millemissen.

Hello Millemissen,
Thank you very much for this accurate and detailed presentation of the possibilities on how to use the timer function.
Have a nice day
