Hi everyone!
I have four of these: http://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=1078 (or at least I think it's those).
One of them looks like this:
The other three are fine.
Now, I'm not sure posting here is the right place, because I'm mainly interested in knowing whether there are millions of these tapes out there or whether they are rare? If they are rare, what are they worth? I have never seen these for sale (admitting I rarely check out ebay, but tend to stay on the local equivalents, because of the cost of international shipping).
Cheers
/ Johan
I have no idea what they go for, but I'm interested in buying them. ARe they still for sale?
Hi!
Well, I never really put them out for sale, I was mainly interested in knowing what they are worth.
*EDITED*
I have 162 of them - all new, unused and in the blue sellophane wrapping.

A note is that they are loaded with BASF TPII tape which is a cobalt enhanced chrome - some of the best out there.
Vinyl records, cassettes, open reel, valve amplifiers and film photography.
Lee, are the C60's or C90's?
Did they do other sizes as well?
probably not the best person to offer you advice, Lee, but would it be better not to disclose that you have that many tapes

Ummm... I have... errrmmm... 16.2 of them... and... ummmm....
Fair comment Step1 - I should have kept it a secret, but i'm always excited to share my finds with fellow B&O enthusiasts.
I did also post a link to my auction of them, which was rightly removed by Martin (Dillen). My apologies! again, I was a little too excited...

Well, I was biting my lip doing it but.. err.. we have certain rules, you know...
Not my listing but there seems to be some tapes of this type up for sale here:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320915147671
They are excellent tapes even if no B&O decks, as far as I know, left the factory calibrated for using them.

Absolutely!
I 'forgot myself' and felt a bit embarrassed about it - and actually applauded you for doing it. Just because I'm the site owner it doesn't grant me privileges beyond any other user, nor should it.
I consider myself reprimanded...
That listing says they're rare... You have 162 of them!!!!!

Only Peter could come up with an answer like that. Brilliant..
I was fortunate to have 50 TDK MA-XG still sealed back in 2008.
The seller told me he had 3 of those boxes with 50 each.
I got the 50 he had for me and the adress on the box which I still have?
Factory 4 Bang & Olufsen in Struer
So they properly used metal tapes for calibration

They used the shells for alignment cassettes - loaded with BASF chrome tape - MA-XG's in their original form were an accessory to the Beocord 9000 as an alignment/calibration tape.
