I am informed that the long standing problem which stops the Beo6 from powering up has been resolved with an update of the Beo6 firmware which has been made available to dealers.
The updated Beo6 software version is 3.30a
Apparently, the cause of the problem was somehow it had ended up being in boot-loader mode. Several factors can cause the Beo6 to end up in boot-loader mode:-
I suggest you get the new firmware uploaded to your Beo6 to avoid future problems even if you have not had this problem.
NOTE: Beo6 with version 3.xx firmware is not backward compatible with version 5.12 or older versions of the Configuration Tool. You must use version 6.62 or higher of the Configuration Tool.
Whilst several recent postings have noted no further development and even B&O customer service has been effectively saying this, it is not completely true. Yes the Beo6 now has a limited life left, but new functionality has been added as below:-
To get these new features replace the product templates in the configuration for Beosound 5 and BeoPlay A9.

Thanks for spreading the word. The update was just made available for testers yesterday. It will be available again later this week as it looks like.
Hi Keith, you are mentioning "Support for Spotify Connect on BeoPlay A9"- Does this mean 2 way, like the CD funktion ?

Should the new firmware be enbedet in 6.62 ?- Just updated, and it does not update to 3.30a !
The new firmware adds Spotify Connect source support for BeoPlay A9 and improved battery life amongst other things.
The software is currently not available on the servers, but hopefully will be early next week.
Thats good news Keith considering my Beo6 won't power up. Connects to the config tool ok which seems to download ok.
It wen dead just before xmas i went to the dealer who says he bought it back to life by connecting a charged battey. I then had to dash home with a fading Beo6 to get it on charge.. it worked ok up to this week.
Can someone post a link to the new configuration tool 6.62 or higher?????
