In the 'List' of the newer Beo4's you can find the entry:

A-APPLE

According to the Lexicon of buttons of the Beo4 w. navbutton you can read that this is:

"For selecting AV and then APPLETV"

I know that we can use the Beo4 w. navbutton with some of the newer (pre-V1/BV11/12...) BV's.

I use one with my BV8-40 myself.

BUT - the AV-function does not work with the V1/BV11/12-BV's Devil

As it still is in the 'List' (of the latest Beo4 SW-version) one might think that there should be a way to use it.

With my new V1-32 (in our new 'second' livingroom) the 'AV' function is the function I miss most for everyday use - even more than the MasterLink function (no I did not buy the converter Unsure) - and I would like to avoid turning on the screen and the P-Mute it afterwards just to hear music via the ATV.

Have I overlooked something here? Is there some 'option programming', that could solve this?

Would it work in a setup with the NL/ML-converter?

Could someone with more V1/BV11/12-BV-experience than I, give some hints to this issue.

Or is it just that B&O does NOT WANT us to use this simple and helpfull function anymore Confused

Was that a question - or a suggestion?

I assume of all people you know AV-commands are not accepted in (default) option 1. Question, I guess...

Of cource I know that - with the ML-generation!

Was told in the shop (and my shop-guys mostly know things) that this would not work on a V1.

Using the 'good old' V-option programming via Beo4 does not do the trick.

Neither does choosing the VM option 2 in the settings of the V1.

I guess the V1 must sense that it is linked, before you can change anything there - only my guess!

What B&O should do, is update the firmware of the Beovisions, so one of the coloured buttons will be recognised as a P.mute command.

That would not be possible, since they are often used for accessing submenu's in PUC-connected devices.

For now 'P.MUTE' is the third entry in 'my' List - I can use that blindly.

A work'around - but not a solution.

----

By the way, the 'A-APPLE' is of no use with a ML-BV.

You can't assign the HDMI-port you use for the ATV-box to 'APPLETV' - at least not on my BV8-40.

They MUST have thought of something creating the 'A-APPLE' entry Confused

I know. My point is, the P.mute is so often used, now more than ever, it shouldn’t be a ’soft’ button anymore. If there is coloured button free in the PUC, why not reserve it for p.mute? They can even add it in the overlay when pressing MENU. For example the PUC in the Apple TV, where only green and yellow are used. It’s just an idea.

Try using it while your active source is either the analogue input, web media or home media.  It *might* work.

The command that you're asking about?  AV and P-AND-P will only work with certain input combinations on V1/V11/BS4.  Basically they will only work with an HDMI source and an internal or analog source simultaneously from what I understand.

NVM just tested it ... only works with P-AND-P not AV.

Hey,

having a V1 now, I really was looking forward to use it the way Millemissen wants to use it.

So hopefully we find a solution.

This thread has been looked at nearly 500 times.

Would be nice at least to know if other V1/BV11/12NG-users (other than I and Lenny) miss this function too.

Might put some pressure on the guys in Struer, if I could write them that support for the AV-function is a thing that they must bring in the next update Whistle
