Have a 45 evening, with my bg3500.When I push play, I see that the record is lifted up and then down just before the arm reaches the record.
I am missing some knowhow here. Why does it do this ?

My re-capped M75 are my precious diamonds.
It's "weighing" the record. If the mechanism can lift the record it is assumed to be a 45 7inch
If it can't lift the record then it is assumed to be a 33 12 inch
