Is there any established arrangement for Forum members to help set up systems on other members equipment? I am having trouble setting up the wifi connections to have my Encore talk to the router and Beomaster 5.
Not that I know of!
Is the server function of the BeoMaster 5 enabled (in the settings)?
Has your router the DLNA function enabled?
Can you play netradio on the Encore?
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
Encore only works with 5Ghz WLAN.
Do you have a dual band router?
If yes, look into that. If no, unfortunately you need one.
its a Linksys EA3500 dual band N750 router with 2.4 and 5 GHz bands hard wired from a BT hub - the 5GHz band has been enabled and my desktop is happily using the internet from the Cisco over the BT hub..
Ok, the Encore has been subject of a dealer setting it up to replace our BS4000 but we were unhappy with the result - there was a bad delay with playing radio through it. I suspected it was the buffer setting and wanted to get something I own working!
So I dont how to check the server function is enabled... I cant find a DLNA function selection for the Linksys EA3500... net radio is grayed out, settings and AMem are bold.
But I am wiling to have a go at changing anything!
Hi Paul,
First:
You are talking about the BeoSound5 Encore - and in your first post you are mentioning the BeoMaster5 as what you want to connect to.
Then I would assume, that you have a BeoSound5 as well, (which can be used for setting up the DLNA server function of the BM5).
Is this correct?
Maybe you have BeoMaster5 solo (connected to a BV?
(I am not sure that you can set that up as a server without the BeoSound5 at all - but this has to be clarified first.)
If you are interested in getting help through posting, it would be helpfull if you could describe your setup a bit more in details.
-----
The settings for DLNA in the router can (depending on how the Linksys interface is displayed) be found under:
Administration -> Management. ----- here 'UPnP' must be enabled - if you want to play music on the Encore from a server on the network.
In the interface of the Linksys you can also check which devices are connected to the router.
Please do refer to the user guide of the EA3500.
Greetings MM
