Hi, I have a very serious problem. My father bought me a gramophone a year ago. I used it correctly and everything was fine, but for a long time I didn't use it anymore. Yesterday, after 6 months, I used it again. I don't know what happend and what I supposed to do, because I know little about gramophones. After pressing the button, turntable and arm extremely slowed down. The sound was owful and I can not hear the difference beetwen music and vocals. I started turn the button with + on left and - on right side. It helped, but today when I turned it on again, everything was like yesterday. I don't know what can went wrong.

(Sorry for my English, I'm Pole)

Hi bajaderra,

Your English is fine.

What model of turntable do you have?

Martin.

Hello Bajaderra

Can you explain this sentence a bit better

"After pressing the button, turntable and arm extremely slowed down. "

The best thing is to videofilm with your mobile phone and give us a youtube link, så we can see and hear.

It may be as simple as needing a new belt if the existing belt has become hard and is slipping - slowing down the motor with the speed control can sometimes be enough to allow the belt to 'grab' so that might explain why you had some success with the speed control, but I agree with Christian, a video of the problem would be very useful.

Martin.
