I own a BeoVision 10-40 and would like to improve the sound without adding a pair of loudspeakers.
Lots of Beoworlders said they love the set-up BV10 + BL11.
What i'd like to find is a much "fuller" sound at low level volume. Not a boom-boom to shake the apartement, but a richer sound when the volume is set between 20 - 30.
More "presence" of the sound, a bit like an Avant or a BeoVision 3.
Is the BeoLab 11 the right choice ?
Isn't it too subtle to hear a difference at low level ?
Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Yes, the BL11 made a big difference to my BV10. I have the BL11 connected to the (improved speakers) BV11 and it makes a much smaller, subtle difference.
The BL11 comes in to it's own when you hear explosions etc in movies. Less noticeable for regular TV.
Why not get a far more powerful BL19?
At 20-30 the BL11 would not be significant.
I would rather say, that adding any external BL's would make the sound at that level 'fuller'.
If that is not wanted - just remember to turn on the 'loudness' function.

"For example, if you have a pair of small loudspeakers (let’s say, the built-in loudspeakers in a BeoVision 11, for example) and you add an external subwoofer (say, a BeoLab 19), and you’re listening at normal listening levels, then (all other things being equal) turning the subwoofer on and off should not produce a noticeable change in the bass level. In fact, if you turn on the subwoofer and hear a difference, it means that the subwoofer is too loud."

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
Agree with moxxey. The BL11 does not add much to the BV11 except in large action sequences in movies. If I'd get a new sub I'd be looking at the BL19
I added a BeoLab 11 to my BeoVision 10-40 and love the added fullness. It's very subtle. Not at all like the booming BeoLab 2. What I really liked was how adding the BeoLab 11 really improved the sound from the BeoLab 6000 speakers that I have connected to the BeoVision 10. I doubt that the improvement would be as much pronounced with a better speaker such as the BeoLab 8000. It's perfect for the BeoLab 6000, though. I feel like it added new life to my BeoLab 6000 speakers.
BTW, when I bought the BeoLab 11, I ordered extra colored shells to change along with the color of the fret of the BeoVision 10. It just adds to the fun. Beware, however, that the edges of the cover of the BeoLab 11 are razor-sharp! I suffered a nasty, bloody accident when handling them. It's advisable to wear gloves when changing the covers.
Thanks very much for your answers, guys !
Maybe i can ask to my dealer for a test at home to hear the result.
Or maybe a BL11 and BL19 test !
