Show her a nice overture, quite cheap, not too big, goodlooking, has cd, radio and casette :) and if Im not wrong an aux so she can plug her Ipod in it.. And if she really likes it she can upgrade the speakers in the future..

When we are settled in the new house I will get one to my bedroom, it is pretty cool with old mixed tapes :)

Søren Hammer:
My 15 year-old female cousin is very happy with her restored Beomaster 4400, a Beogram 4002 and a pair of S45's which I put together for under £150 incl a capacitor kit from Dillen Laughing

It really is all about where you live and availability - I think i would be hard pushed to get anything on your list for 150£.

Might send you 150£ and a wish list :-0 !

Dear all,

many thanks for all the good ideas. It gave me a lot of food for thoughts.

It is interesting to hear to see the two groups of advices: the modernists who think in a very practical way (MP3 etc.) and the traditionalists, or rather I should say the romantics who think beautiful vintage.

I decided to go the second way, because, firstly, I do not have the money for the new stuff and frankly, I do not find it very nicely looking.

So I think that a BC 9000, the Ouverture is also beautiful, but we already have both, but I have found an old BM in wood, (I do not remember the model and I am away). As for the boxes, I confess I am unfaithful: Gründig Audiorama. I will add an Airport Express to give the system some modernity.

What do you think of it.

Be seeing you

François

Congratulations; those Audiorama's are the best looking speakers in my opinion!

Vinyl records, cassettes, open reel, valve amplifiers and film photography.
