I wanted to share my experience of the fantastic service I recently received from Timeless AV (http://www.timeless-av.co.uk).  Around ten months ago I purchased a pair of Beolab 8000; however, one of the speakers developed a fault whereby it refused to switch to standby.  As I live in Australia and Timeless AV are in the UK, I expected to pay for shipping at least one way so that it could be repaired by one of their technicians.  I was surprised to receive an email from Darren saying that he would pay for a local B&O dealer to handle the fault - now I'm not sure if this is their standard procedure, but I was really impressed.  The repair was handled by Chris of B&O Fortitude Valley (Brisbane), who was also really good to deal with.  Speakers are both playing perfectly now :)

I agree ,I have had better service of Darren ,spending peanuts on a link tv ,than places I have spent £££s more.

Keep up the good work.

really good to read as we should always champion good service Smile

we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.

I cannot agree at all - my experience with the "before " sales service was rather lousy ! I got the impression that " all customers are equal - but some are more equal than the others "!!!!!!!

However I just may have been lucky not to buy.

Welcome to Beoworld!

Judging by the other comments in this thread perhaps you were UNLUCKY to have been put-off from buying!

Would be nice to know more/why.

Maybe it is just some misunderstanding?

I've always found Timeless AV and Darren to be excellent with good communication and service.  I'd be interested to know why the other contibutor did not buy anything or what their problem was?  These things are usually 2-way.  Odd thing for a first post to be about.

+1 - great service always from Darren of Timeless AV.  I have bought two TVs from him in the last year and both were sent overseas with the minimum of fuss.

Hi,

it's quite simple : I wanted to buy a TV - however the gentleman was out of office and I was informed by the gentleman as soon as he will be back he is going to get in touch with me - this never ever happened as he -  by the time  - found a "better"  buyer. This is in no way honourable !

He may have already had the other buyer but being out of the office could not tell you.  Unless the other buyer was prepared to pay over the asking price (highly unlikely), or you tried to knock the price down (quite possibly - as I always try to) and the seller is quite open to choose whom he wishes to sell to.

You can reserve products online at the click of a button from Timeless Av on each and every product on sale.  Why did you not just do that?  If you chose not to do that then the seller has the option to sell to whoever he likes and whoever contacts him or reserves it first - i.e. the other person who bought the TV.  I don't see the problem?  Unless you're just upset that Darren didn't phone you back immediately?

How do you know the other person was a 'better buyer'?  And what exactly does that mean in this context?

Dave.

Hi all,

Just a few words on this,

The Gentleman required information on  a TV via ebay where it was listed. I was on my Xmas break at my parents in France  but emailed immediately the days usage type and first three digits of the serial number with a brief explanation of my situation and that i would be back by the 30th.

Over the Xmas break (boxing day) the TV sold on eBay, not to this Gentleman but to someone else.

I was due back on the 30th but due to personal reasons we returned on the 1st Jan - yesterday.

Today i did receive a rather short email from the Gentleman.

I replied to him from my van in a lay by as i was out collecting stock. I informed him that this one was now sold but we have his details and will let him know as soon as we get another in.

There was no "better buyer" - it sold for the asking price on eBay.

The TV was never reserved by the Gentleman he simply inquired. If he felt i was slow in my responses i do apoligise.

Can i just say thank you for all the Positive comments from my fellow Beoworlders over the last year and i'll take this one as something i can learn from and improve.

I wont be posting any further on this  thread so it just leaves me to say happy new year to you all.

Best regards,

Darren

Hi ,

Oxford Dictionary : timeless = not to be thought of as having duration

I've been a member of this forum a long time, but rarely have I seen such pathetic comments in a thread!!

It seems to me that this new "member" has joined simply to cause trouble because he lost an item on ebay (which I guess has happened to most of us, certainly it has happened to me a number of times). Perhaps he could find something better to do with his time ('less).

It's part of the fun when collecting that sometimes you get items at very low prices that you would have never thoght acquiring that inexpensively. Sometimes somebody else is faster, sometimes you pay and you get either something totally wasted or even nothing at all. After all, usually it all evens out over time and when somebody was just faster on one occasion, it means that it will take some more time but usually sooner or later you'll be able to get the item you desire at an at least acceptable price. Just be patient and you'lle be satisfied.

Happy new year to everybody!

Greetings,

Kai

Don't bite people, there are words to describe '''new''' members like this.....

....who's that trip, trapping over my bridge....

forums are supposed to be friendly places with like minded people, leave the rest in the playground.

If he is a new member (I don't see it through the beoworld app), that´s really a shame for him, his posts should be erased.
