I have connected a Beomaster 4500 which I had in storage to a pair of Beolab 3 with the correct type of PowerLink cables. I have two questions for you guys.
1. Every time I operate the Beomaster manually or with the remote (wake up from standby, changing the volume or the sound settings, etc.), after a couple of seconds I hear a short "bzz" sound from the speakers. Is it normal behaviour with this setup or is my Beomaster starting developing faults due to its age?
2. Also, I have the impression that the Beolab 3 sound a bit more muffled than at the dealer (although it may be due to my room or to speaker positioning). Does this suggest that some sort of servicing of the Beomaster's pre-amp would be required?

Question 2 solved for the moment: I have been advised that despite its age, the pre-amp should still be perfectly fine.
Now is that "bzz" normal or is there an issue?
Probably the datalink noise on the cable/master.
Could be, indeed.
But I don't hear that noise with my Beomaster 7000/Beocenter 9500 with Beolab 8000 setups.
So is it specific to the Beomaster 4500 (but I doubt it as it is very similar to the Beocenter 9500), or is it just more audible with Beolab 3 (the ALT lens?), or is it due to the cables (my dealer sold me Mk III for this setup)?
Does anyone know if the short "bzz" noise can be solved or if it is typical for one of the components of this setup? It is very much audible (I don't hear this with my other setups). Thanks !
