My new set up is a Beovision 4.42 / Beosystem2 for video and a Beosystem 2500/Beolab2500 in one (bed)room.

I want to set it up as one and using beo4 as ab.

The Beolab2500 speakers are connected by PL to the Beosystem2 and this works fine with the BV4 on, the Beosystem2500 audio is connected over T611 by using a ML cable to the BV4 and a din7 cable to the Beosystem2500.

All seems to work fine; all beo4 commands are working just fine except for one thing; the sound is awfull when using CD or Radio (TV sounds is perfect) very high toned distorted misformed sound.

Do I have to use an additional PL cable between T1611 and Beosystem2500? or is there another issue at hand?

I assume a T1614 won't work with the BS2500?

Hope someone will be able to help me out here, thnx.

Hi Leon,

A T1614 will do the job. No problem.

Distortion will be probably be caused by a broken or wrong aux cable or faulty T1614.

With a missing pin on the ML, the sound has less volume.

Try to swap the T1614 and the dincable. I have a spare.

I've got a T1611 and a new 7 din aux cable in the set up; should a power link cable also be attached between the T1611 and BS2500 ?

I've read somewhere on the internet the T1614 won't work because of the MCL drivers in the BS2500 and a T1611 should be used.  hmm.

I'll try to add a PL cable tonight and a T1614 instead of the T1611 and you're always welcome for a cup of coffee and an effort to use your spare dincable instead of mine.Wink

Hi Andre,

Thnx for your reply; I've just tried what you suggested and after replacing the T1611by a T1614 and making a PL connection between the BS2500 and T1614 the sound is ok now and the buttons on the beo4 are working just fine.

I 've set the BS on 0 in A opt and the BV4 on 2 in V opt and it's working quit nicely indeed except for one thing; after using the BS2500 (CD or radio) and switching to BV4 the BS2500 stays "on" (CD keeps on turning) but the sound of the BV4 is on the Beolab2500.

In the end I can only stop the CD from turning by keeping the red dot end button of the beo4 pushed in and then everything finally stops (turning)

IS there a possible solution for this issue? although I can live with this issue ofcourse. Wink

You could command CD Stop before switching to the BV4. The problem is that the BL2500 doesn't know if there is another linkroom attached where the cd is playing at that moment.

Also there was an instruction of pressing an audio source first on the BC2500 after option programming. This was needed for the right AV-startup of the set.

This was the solution, Andre;

Din 7 cable plus PL cable between the converter T1614 and BS2500.

And the instruction you mentioned; pressing a physical audio source on the BS2500 after option programming did the trick !

thnx.
