If the pictures of the new BV from BeoPlay are right then I think this TV is a real copy of Leowe Connect TV, see:
http://www.strawberrysound.co.nz/vision/loewe/connect
for the young people today copies are in new ideas are out ! so i think it will sell like hot cakes :) for years alwys Loewe was accused to make copies now they turned the tables uhaha
I would not be sure that this TV for 3.000,-€ will sell like hot cakes. 40'' for such money and not a special design? Let us see, I hope the picture that was released is not the real one or in flash that this TV will look better. I really like my BV7:)
if the picture and sound are excellent...why not!
I think you will discover a lot of details that make V1 different from the Loewe Concept. Like the painted steel with a surface like your car. Play products like V1 are not to be compared to BeoVisions like your BV7. They are targetted at different clients. But picture, sound and quality of materials will make it worth money.
at the moment i own a beovision 8-40 mkII.
i was thinkin to buy a V1.... Maybe better picture, what do you think?

I was very interested in this set, but it appears to have a feature set and size that would count me out. I really want larger than the 42 inch plasma I have now, at least 46, but larger would be better. I could live with a 46 if the design were truly outstanding, but as I say 50 or even 55 would be a better fit for what I want.
Also, since I pulled my AV7000 out of the loop, and totally separated the audio and video systems, I really don't need to pay for surround sound and speakers I wouldn't use. Currently I use an Infinity LCR sound bar for front duty, and a Harman Kardon AV 7.1 receiver. The receiver is truly amazing, it not only has 5.1 and 7.1 processing, it has 7 channels of amps, plus auto audio setup with it's own mic to calibrate the setup, and the most amazing video processing upconverting everything to HDMI, with Faroujda chips.
Seems I'm not the target market. I don't need a cheaper set that is small and has a lot of built in audio, and I don't want to spend the money on the large B&O panels/TVs. I would like a panel that is very sexily designed and visually stunning but don't really need much more. So, I guess I'm not the market for this alas.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
Jeff:Seems I'm not the target market.
Given your usage and current HK investment I would agree.
I think the market is the "small apartment, single TV" demographic (think low end BV6), or the "wireless home" where V1s (yes,, plural) can be distributed around the home
B&O will still have their main (expensive) BeoVision line for those of us who want (and can afford) their cinematic experience

I think you've pegged the target market there, and it's not me. I can see how if I were younger or didn't have the investment in stuff now I might be up for it. As for the other Beovision sets, I truly admire their style and such, but not the price. While I think Beolab and Beosound stuff is a good investment, audio isn't changing that much, video technology changes far too quickly to get attached to a multi kilobuck system like the Beovisions. As long as that's happening I can't see puting in the cash required to do B&O for video sadly.
The HK's video processing is quite impressive, and I paid under 500 bucks for it. Not as slick as B&O, but price to performance value is high. The Faroujda processing does wonders even on old VCR tapes, nothing will make them a HD signal source but it removes a lot of the nasties.
I might be up for a pricier B&O panel if it had even one HDMI input, was very stylish, and nothing else. Just a basic monitor, but with style. I'm currently looking favorably at the 2012 Panasonic stuff, and waiting to see what the Sharp OLED panel looks like and is priced like.
Still, you'll pry my B&O audio gear out of my cold, dead fingers...

But V1 means that it's the first and there could easily be a V2 which offers larger sizes and a different styling. It's only the beginning :-)
Just googled the V1.
I hate being a sourpuss but that thing isn't doing anything for me.
Too long to list....
I agree , fellow machead. :)
