Dear members,
how can I mount a LC 2 dimmer on the ceiling? I know that there is a special mount described in the manual for exactly that purpose but I do want to place the LC 2 right in the hole where the cables run out of the ceiling (the lamp itself is placed somewhere else). Since this hole probably is much deeper than the LC 2, the original mount will be of not much help. I can't be the only one with that problem. How can it still be achieved to mount the LC 2 on the ceiling? Do you use a clamping fixture (spanner?) or are there any other suggestions?

I drilled two small holes in two corners, Then it was posable to screw the lc2 to a piece of timber that I had inserted into the hole. Put the cover on and hole is covered nicely.
Thanks very much. Could you please be a little more concrete about how you achieved this? In which corners dod you drill the holes? How did you fix the timber in the hole? And how did you screw the LC 2 to the piece of timber? Which cover do you mean? The white plastic one of the LC 2?

remove the white cover (it pops off if you apply some careful pressure to the cornersI. Drill the holes in the black plastic underneath. Use a slightly larger drill so hat the screws are flat to the surface (if necessary), then after you have mounted it to the ceiling, put the cover back and the installation is hidden.
If needed you could also drill a small hole in the bottom to hide the cables.

So you would anchor the LC 2 by drilling holes in the plastic - probably close to the corners and then screwing through those directly in the ceiling? This assumes that the LC 2 correspondingly broader than the hole in the ceiling, doesn't it? Or am I getting anything wrong here. Thanks very much for your help. It is much appreciated.
In my situation the light fitting was installed in the middle of the ceiling. After the furniture was placed in the room the light was out of kilter with the room so it had to be moved.I wired through the LC2 and put the light in its new location,The hole in the plaster ceiling was big enough to wedge in a piece of wood against the existing joist (wooden beam). I screwed through the black plastic corners and the LC2 was big enough to cover the hole.
The LC2 is light enough and will only need thin screws to attach it, if you have enough plaster you could screw into it directly.
