So now we know that there is a connection between 'curves' and 'sweetspot' Whistle

Great article and given the amount of  checking , diagrams and photos a time consuming piece of work.

Thanks Geoff

All style and no substance, huh? I would just love the audiophile press to get a copy of this to publish along with a full review of the BL5.

FYI: I just made some updates to the posting with some extra photos of the first-generation tweeter lens. Also cleaned up some of the errors in the Figure references...

Cheers

Peter Aczel of The Audio Critic reviewed the BL5 and gave them a rave review, you can find it online if you Google for it. Of course, despite being right about most things, Peter is a staunch objectivist and loathed by the high end crowd for pointing out the emperor has no clothes, so his review doesn't carry the weight it should with the high end guys.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

B&O should incorporate some of Geoff's technical material in its advertising.

They could blow away all ill-informed opinion about B&O being expensive styling with no substance at one fell swoop.

I agree.

This forum is (if you'll have me that is!) 'Home' for me with respect to chewing the fat online over audio/HiFi/AV tech and products, with friends.

However I still do some limited posting on Pink Fish Media, HiFi Wigwam, and WhatHifi, as I used to spend some time there before coming to Beoworld and B&O ownership.

I've found that in the context of some of the discussions that crop up, I've been able to link to Geoffs Blog site such as to address specific questions being discussed, so as to provide expert and qualified factual comment from Geoff/B&O on the matter.

It's certainly made a few people think a bit more about B&O in more serious vein, and I see one or two have taken the links I've provided, and then linked them in discussions on other forums, so perhaps in some small way, the word is starting to spread.

I hope so - B&O deserve so much more respect than the scant regard the audiophool community seemingly wishes to extend to B&O, as a maker of seriously engineered and highly innovative kit, that reproduces the original source to the highest standards, for the music and film connoisseur.

Best regards

John... Cool
