Hello,

I have a BV 10-46, and would like to connect a apple airport express to play music via airplay to the tv´s loudspeaker. But what i don't wont is the screen on, there is no reason to use power on that when only listening to music.

Is it possible to make a connection to the BV10 through SPDIF og phone, that will not turn on the screen but only let the music to the loudspeaker ?

Regards

Jørgen

You have multiple choices:

  • Connect analog out from AE to analog L/R BV10

Quality is not that bad, but could be better if you use the below.

  • Connect digital out from AE to -optical/coaxial converter- to digital in BV10.

BV10 does not have optical inputs. Down side is you need an extra converter.

  • Instaed of AE, use an Apple TV. Connection via HDMI.

Apple TV does the same as an AE. Plus a little more if you want to..

No matter what you choose, first the TV needs a command from your Beo4/5/6 to switch on, before you can use your iDevice to choose your song. If you don't want the screen to switch on, just add an AV in your list-commands.

Hello Keith,

Thanks for you're answer. I will first try the analog way.

You said "just add an AV in your list-commands" i don't think I know how to do that, could you maybe explain me more precisely how to do that. I have a beo4 remote ?

Sure!

Which Beo4 do you have? The old one with the GO button, or the one with the joystick?

I could explain how to customize your beo4, but it's easier for me if you read the instructions in the manual. If you don't have a hard copy, you can download the manual from the B&O website. Just download the one with the navigation button, and go to the section how to add an extra button.

If you managed to get "AV" in your LIST, you can move this command so it will appear first in your LIST. Then go to the AV (via LIST) and choose the source where you setup your AE. For example V.MEM

Another approach is to choose PC as your source, and add A-PC. Then just press LIST till you see A-PC in the Beo4 display and press GO.

Also, your TV has to be in V.OPT 2 to get this working. (See manual) If you don't have an audiomaster, your TV is likely in V.OPT 1 (default)

Let me know how it goes!

Hi, I found the beo4 manual at b&o website. Thereafter i added the "AV" feature to the beo4. Then i first select AV via "LIST" and then "DVD" and only the sound goes though, its beautiful :-)

Instead of AE i tried with my DVD it is the same principle.

But what actually in the TV when i select --> List --> AV --> DVD is it the same as saying. AV because i only want sound, and then i want the sound to be mapped to the source DVD, for which is the HDMI C terminal ? just for curiosity.

But thank very much for you help Keith.
