Hello and welcome to beoworld
To register to the base you have to reset the base (or to disconnect the base from the mains). Then you have a certain amount of time to register the phone (s).
To delete the old phonebook you have to delete the entries one by one .... Only your b&o dealer has the possibility to reset the phone. At least your new entries will automatically finfd their way to the other phone.
These are good examples of nice design and high quality build.
Try to get a user manual (should be downloadable from the B&o site). Installing the phones without the manual is difficult.
I hope that you will be happy with your purchase.
Best regards, David
The first thing you should do is remove the battery covers on the handsets and check the model numbers. Beocom 6000's with a square black base station were never sold in the US - we got the Beocom 1 instead, which looks like a 6000. Assuming this is what you have you can reset the handset as follows:
Press 9#9#9*hold on the keypad
Turn wheel until it says ‘reset handset’
Press center ‘ok’ button and turn wheel until it says ‘yes’, and then press the center button again
It will reset and prepare to be registered to a base station
Unplug your base station then plug it in again. The red light on the bottom should be flashing. Press the center button on the handset to register it to the base station.
I have a 6000 220V in Danish with a pyramid base station. New battery, red light flashes on handset, green light on base when phone is on it, I guess charging battery. I cannot get handset to 'speak' to base. I have been told both that the 220V phone won't and will work in the USA. Do you know if this is so? What I have deciphered/translated from Danish on handset is NO BASE STATION, register base station - what numbers do I input? There are serial number, dk, td, park:36-, etc. on base of pyramid base station. What numbers do I enter to register handset/base? I have only line out from pyramid base plugged into splitter for power and telephone line. Nothing. Took phone and base to repair shop suggested by dealer, they were perplexed. Really. They didn't have a clue. Was like watching a small town fixit shop working on a toaster with a hammer. Ready to toss phone....Thanks for any help.
As MediaBobNY has said the Beocom 6000 was never sold in the US. The Beocom 1 hardware was the same, but the software is different to allow it to work on the different phone line technology used in the US.
However, provided the Beocom 6000 base and handset are of compatible versions you should still be able to register the phone to the base.
There are two versions of Beocom 6000 and every product has a 4 digit "Type" number which normally defines region or country it can be used in:-
The software by country is different. In Europe the difference is language.

I have unplugged from wall power, removed and re-installed handset battery, can get handset to 'read' park number from base, things going well, progress, then command for pinkode appears and nothing can move forward. Have entered variety of numbers. All generate 'fail' response display. Is there a default pin code? So close and yet so far.
Default PIN code is '0000'.
Whilst there is a default pin code of 0000 it's more likely that the previous owner did not remove the handset from the base and had six phones registered which will give you the same problem.
So, you should reset the phone with DOT 70009 then it will ask you to confirm press OK (centre button) The phone will reset and a few seconds later you will get the message "POWER ON" followed by a message saying flat battery.
All I get is 'base signing et ojeblik' and an endless rotating bar. in response to Tast Pinkode, entering 0000 results in error/fail message. Everything else results in ikke timeld. If i depress the 'phone' button to right of dial I am asked timeldbase? Click center button get base 01/01 with base number displayed. depress center button get fast pink ode...again. Suggestions?
TAST PINKODE again
PINKODE has space for 8 numbers
I had issues registering a phone to the Base it had worked with for years. Kept asking for a pincode which I knew and entered. It turned out to be a battery problem. A new battery sorted it. Take a look at this posting it may help.

Thanks. I have a brand new battery which I charged for a couple hours on the base the phone doesn't want to admit having a relationship with. From reading your posts I guess the rf part of my phone is failing?
If the handset is able to consistently read the park number from the base then I doubt it is the usual RF problem. I have had the RF problem on a handset and it simply keeps searching and is unable to show the park number.
It's more likely to be either a PIN code problem or the fact that the base has too many other handsets already registered to it. I think either problem requires a service tool to be connected to the base.
Please expand on the service tool.
DgM: Please expand on the service tool.
I can't! I just know that there's a limit to the things a user can do to the Beocoms and their PSTN bases and that anything further requires connection of a specialist tool! However, any reputable B&O dealer or repairer should have the required eqpt, and it should not be a difficult or expensive task.
