I'm very anxious to see the design.
Beoplay A2

Beoworld app with direct photo upload and emoticons.
Isn't it the new Beovision 7?
I was told this "new Avant" will *start* at £10K. It better be out-of-the-world for that price :)
I don't think an everyman "Avant replacement" starts at £10K, sadly.
Looking forward to seeing it, but I can't justify an upgrade.
Is it the TV with the hidden speaker that will rotate and extand from behind ?
V100
There is a tv - and there is a BV

BeoBoy68:A new Avant TV is coming in May 2014.
Just in time for my birthday!!!
Beo4 'til I die!
Too big for me , I'm more than happy with my amazing 11-40 thx :)
Wow - what a picture , stunning
Flappo:Too big for me , I'm more than happy with my amazing 11-40 thx :) Wow - what a picture , stunning
Raeuber:Start at 10.000 £ with 55 inches? Must be a 4K OLED!
I don't think it is OLED. Definitely 4K though. Regular Samsung 65" 4K TVs are £4,000+.
A B&O OLED 55" would be quite a lot more than £10K, scaled upwards from a regular OLED 55". Also, can you actually buy regular OLED TVs higher than 55" on the market?
I'd definitely consider upgrading to a B&O OLED 55" if it was "only" £10K! :)
Is V100 the "code name" or the real name ?
Strange for a B&O TV, the V letter is for the BeoPlay models.
Raeuber:Must be a 4K OLED!
No, Räuber - it's 8K OH-LED
MM
CaptainC:I'm wondering where you guys get these infos from...
Uuh - spies in the house of B&O 👀
Sounds exciting. I do hope it moves mechanically or something physically moves when it's turned on - I'm a sucker for things like that and I think many people are.
£10000 is too much for a home TV, too elitist . If it were just over the £5k mark they'd sell 20 times as many just like the original Avant and it will be profitable long term.
If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments.
A new Avant? Excellent - I hope it's an HD CRT!
Whoever brought the 'Avant' into this game - and why?
Millemissen: Whoever brought the 'Avant' into this game - and why? MM
I guess because it was probably one of the best TV ever invented. It stood out by miles compared to any competitor.
Looks, picture, sound & user experience - everything a B&O TV should have.
PhilLondon:Will it be called the Avant??
No.
Arriere.

Steph: Is V100 the "code name" or the real name ? Strange for a B&O TV, the V letter is for the BeoPlay models.
V100 is the internal name, where V probably just stands for "Video".
Dealers! It's out in two months. Most dealers are fully aware of forthcoming products and they'll give you an insight or two.
Millemissen: Whoever brought the 'Avant' into this game - and why?
I think that's dealer-talk, sadly. No doubt a dealer getting excited and claiming it's a true "Avant replacement". Which is why I ribbed this slightly as no Avant replacement starts at 55" and £10K.

'The new Avant TV'?
Untill this thread started, it was allways referred to as the 'new BV7'.
I expect something quite new and never seen before and don't think of any earlier BV's.
Maybe that is just me - I'd rather look ahead than back.
As for the names, I am pleased with letters/numbers - leave it to us to nickname them as we please
If the A8 had a name, we wouldn't refer to it as 'Dolly Parton' - or say 'the Pencil' / 'the Organ pipe' for BL8000.....
(We really should have a thread with all the nicknames we know!).
I never heard any 'name' for the soon coming tv other than V100 - but we will soon learn how 'that big baby' will be called officially.
Besides - with V1 'WWll missile' would be the last thing to come into my mind.
MM - Millemissile 🚀

As long as it's not Derrière
The first thing that comes to my mind from "V1" is a buzz bomb as well. Now V2 would be a proper missile.

I they had wheeled out that brown V1 tea trolley, i would have wet myself.
I have just bought an A9, and as its silhouette resembles mine, i'm just going to call it the A9
I had never made the connection with the V1 TV name...and I know a fair amount about the original V1 buzz bomb. The world's first cruise missile. I do remember that one of the main design goals for the V2 rocket was to make the target area at least as dangerous as the launch area.
Given the connotation I might have chosen a different moniker for the V1...

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
