Hi - is it unusual for a BGCD3500 not to respond to direct track access via Beolink 1000 when paired with a BM6500?

I can access cd tracks by using track skip but not by selecting a track number with the numerical keypad on my Beolink 1000 remote.

Update: solved. Solved all by itself weirdly. Anyway numerical direct track access is working as it should now.

Same problem has returned. Any comments gladly received.

So I have a BGCD3500 running through a BM6500 playing into Beolab Penta Mk2.

When I try direct track access via Beolink 1000 (by selecting track 6, or 12) the cd track number in the Penta display flashes twice but the cd player doesn't change the track.
I can change tracks by using the advance/previous buttons no problem but I can't pick a track with the Beolink remote.

This cured itself before as you can see from my previous post last year.
Any thoughts?
